It's A Shoe Repair, Toronto Reviews (3)
This guy has anger management issues. I left some shoes with his assistant as she had told me he could provide a quote, but he wouldn't be back for two hours. I called back in two hours and he gave me the quote. I asked him to go ahead with the repair. He said I had to pay him first. I was rushing to catch a flight and asked if I could pay him when I picked them up. He started yelling over the phone at me and said that wasn't how he did business. So.... Little consideration for my time....and payment required before the job was complete. I was trusting him by leaving my shoes there, but he could not offer the same return trust by accepting that I would pay when I came to pick up the repaired shoes. Sorry, that's not who I want to do business with. I found someone else, cheaper & nicer.
Been going to this guy for years. Never had a problem. Spent $40 on new treads and heel clips. The first time I wore them out, the heel clip fell off. I returned to him and explained the situation. He immediately became defensive and rude. He told me it was my fault 'I was too hard on my shoes.' If I wanted them fixed I would have to pay the fee again. I told him that I would no longer return to his store and he told me that he 'didn't need my business,' turned his back on me and left me standing there.
My shoes entrusted to the owner of "It's A Shoe Repair" for a simple repair were returned to me mangled. After asking for a refund (simply for the cost of the services rather than the cost of the now unwearable shoes), the owner refused and told me that it was my problem, and I was welcome to complain "somewhere else." He later acknowledged that his work was "not pretty" but stated that if I had wanted a nice job, I should have told him so. I was calm but persistent throughout our exchange, but he became verbally and physically aggressive, so much so that building security was called. Please do not make the mistake of giving business to this inconsiderate and incompetent person.
