As always, the service I received the last time I was there, was fast and friendly. However... I'm quite disappointed today. I bought my winter tires through Mr. Lube and the manager at that time offered to store my summer tires. When I called today to see about having the winter ones removed and the summer ones put back on, I was informed that neither my very expensive, almost new tires where there and management had changed twice since November. I am very disappointed!

Why do you advertise for a position with Mr. Lube as a permanent position, and yet the person that was hired barely gets 15 hours of work every week. There is a difference between 15 hours and 40 in case you don't. I find this not very professional on your part, also very misleading. What is the reason behind that, I would like an explanation. The hired fellow seems intimidated and scared to ask why he was being mislead when hired.

I find this very dishonest on the part of the company. This is not happening at your St.James outlet, it is in the St.Anne's Road outlet.

A concerned citizen, especially being a Canadian company. The rating is not on the job done by your employees, it is on the company itself.

I whent in to get a oil change and a tranny flush they did it but about 1000 k down the road I stopped because the truck wasn't running right they forgaught to tighten the oil cap so there whent my oil change and the worst came after when I was driving and the transmission level was down so I whent they broke a fitting and instead of telling me they Jimmie riged it back on and we'll now I had to get a complete tranny flush again and a whole new tranny coolant liNE because it was leaking so bad . Never going back and I hope you guys don't either

Quoted me a firm lump sum price for my oil change. Then I had to fight off all the up-selling!
Finally, when the bill came there was a six percent "surprise" for "shop supplies".
Although I hadn't ordered any, it was clear ti wasn't leaving until the bill, as printed, was paid in full.
I just don't trust them and thats not a relationship i want to have with someone changing my oil without my oversight.
Jim T, if Boston Pizza added "pan grease" to my bill id laugh you out of town!!

I have been to this particular Mr. Lube location on numerous occasions. They have been the utmost of courteous and respectful to me and my friends and family. I understand they use the manufacturers recommendations for the services and I have never been taken advantage of. I would definitely recommend this Mr. Lube to anyone. And it sure as hell beats going to the dealership.

sincerely,

Jackie

My 18 year old son took his car for its first oil and lube job (which is what he asked for) He's had the car for 6 months. It was previously safetied and serviced by a well known mechanic. They hosed my son and preyed on his inexperience. It cost him $220.00 for an air filter a fuel filter, and engine flush and more. They were still trying to bleed more from him suggesting a transmission flush and more. Lucky for him he ran out of money and said no he couldn't because his part time job doesn't pay him enough. This is WRONG and we will never go back to those shysters.

Used to be a good place to go, but lately they spend more effort to up-sell you on things that you don't need than they do looking out for your car. To top it off, they kept me in the bay for 20 minutes waiting for an air filter without telling me that they were having it sent from the other side of town! They were more interested in selling the air filter than letting me getting me back on the road (drove to Canadian Tire, bought it for 1/3rd the price and installed it myself).

Additional business details

Until the mid-seventies, most oil changes were still being done by service stations and car dealerships. But entrepreneur Cliff Giese of Edmonton, Alberta sensed an opportunity. Cliff invented the 'drive-thru' quick oil change concept and in 1976 opened the first Mr. Lube store in Edmonton. Never before had an oil change and lube been so fast, convenient and affordable. By 1984, Mr. Lube had 45 stores across Canada and had initiated its Canadian Franchise Program. NOW we have 88 stores across Canada providing a full range of vital fluid services and other preventative vehicle maintenance. We're the country's leader in the industry - and still growing.
