I had two kids go through the Primary grades at Mentor and found everything to be as advertised. They were way ahead of their friends from other private and public schools after Grade 4. I know parents whose kids are now in university and they say their kids are still way ahead of their peers so if the school exists to prepare students for university, it is working. Mentor expects students to work hard. Those who do, succeed. Those who don't seem to succeed only in giving unfair and misleading reviews on the internet (eg: how is the track, field and dome considered to be sub-par sports facilities?)

Good kids. Decent teachers who are held accountable and therefore will work with parents to help educate the student. Workload is excessive and does not always add value - too much "busy work".

This school is lacking in many ways. There are very few course options in the high school programme, and even fewer sports teams..With all the money, sports equipment is run down and many teams are non-existent. As well, the workload is insane; in a term, you may get about five days homework-free. On top os that, it is non- semestered, further increasing the already immense workload. 16 exams per year..! Students are stressed and the curriculum isn't particularly innovative; most of it is just memorization. In fact, a good portion of the teachers seem to have no clue what they are doing or how to educate. The facilities are run down for the most part. The same problems may occur at public schools, but at least you're not paying 15,000 for it..unimpressed.

As a highschool student, I have nothing positive to say about the school. I routinely stay up past midnight to complete homework assignments. The teachers are really nothing special with the exception of maybe a couple. As a student, it is frustrating to be told you cannot even dye your hair a natural colour..bye a teacher with bright red hair. Chewing gum lands you a 40 minute detention. If you want your child to enjoy your highschool years, look elsewhere.

Primary education is ok. Teachers are great. Intermediate division has way too many tests and assignments. Kids are stressed out...so are the parents!!!. High School is ok but not enought courses offered.

The Kindergarten and grade one programs are basically the same as public school. There's nothing advanced or challenging about the curriculum. I think they should offer a more challenging grade one program. The fact that the students don't even get a grade or comment about their school year performance is ridiculous. I need to know where my kid is at in class and also a grade report or good/VG/fair etc. comment tells me if the teacher is even on the ball with knowing what my child knows! I will say though, after grade 5, the program gets kicked up a notch and is challenging. It's a good school overall though. Well behaved kids and small class sizes.
