Granton Institute of Technology, Toronto Reviews (1)
GRANTON INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY WAS A LIFE CHANGER FOR ME IN YEAR 2000 TO PRESENT TIME.THIS INSTITUTE PROVIDES ME WITH AN ABUNDANCE OF TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE IN MY STUDIES OF AUTO-TRUCK-DIESEL MECHANICS.THANKS TO THE MANAGEMENT AND STAFF OF GRANTON INSTITUTE
Does anyone know if the Granton Institute of Technology is still in business or do they close for the summer?
OMG!! I can not believe I have found someone with the same problem. You are not alone. I had the same problem with my course materials. So I did call them. I would not have known if I didn't call cause apparently they are not telling anyone. They have switched names to Granton Tech. Look it up GrantonTech.com . I can no longer continue because apparently now they no longer provide your text books. You have to purchase all that by yourself. Also they either want to eliminate monthly payments and make you pay in full or you have to do pre- authorized payments. I had one person tell me that Granton Institute went bankrupt and new people took over and changed everything. But it no longer has anything to do with Granton Institute. It all sounds fishy. I have been a student since October of 2009, and all the money I paid , I am told, does not mean anything. I told them I wanted a refund because they screwed me over and they said they wont. So I am fighting with them right now. I can give you so much contact info. I need someone on my side. They changed all their conact info, and even moved. I dont understand how they can do that without telling their students. I have new email addresses if you want them. Message me back.
Hey MissyH, Thank you so much for your response. The only reason I signed up with Granton is that they seemed to have been around forever and so I assume, were reputable! I will look up Granton Tech and try to contact someone as my courses were all paid in full. But if you can provide the contact info you have, that would be great!
Sorry it took me so long to get back to you. I hope you have better luck then I do since you paid in full. Like I said its called Granton Tech now. They moved down the street from where they were. I do believe they are now located at 266 Adelaide St, Toronto, Ontario. Here are some emails that are on the site :

students@grantontech.com

Student Accounts and Registration: accounts@grantontech.com

Shipping Services:

Fax Number 416-850-5390
I also have a few email address you can write to that are not on the website. Keep writing them until they answer. Here they are:
apiorkowska@grantontech.com
jgeorgi@grantontech.com
Those are emails you wont get by calling. I had to work hard to get to these people. They may help and the may not. Also just call the number over and over and demand to speak to someone. I want to warn you though, that you now have to buy your own materials, so they may tell you that they will give you a portion of your tuition back to purchase your own materials. They have more of a responsibility to you since you did pay in full. I was only paying monthly, so they have been jerks to me. Their phone number should still be the same. Goodluck!!

Thanks MissyH. I was finally able to contact someone by telephone but I was very persistent and tried everyday. Almost dropped the phone the day someone answered. But the person I spoke with (sorry can't remember her name right now) was very helpful and actually sent my final course by email within minutes of speaking with her. The information she sent to me did indicate that I had to buy my own textbooks but I got lucky and found those on Amazon, $165 for two textbooks so I thought that wasn't too bad. I have to forward the bill and will see what/if I receive any sort of reimbursement. If you want, I can get the name/number or the email address of the person who helped me. Please let me know. I hope that you will get some help to finish your course.
Take care.
Take care.
Granton is no longer a legitimate school. They have gone bankrupt (last June saw the closing of Granton Institute of Technology) The school was purchased and reopened under the name Granton Tech...but beware! They are in contradiction with the amendments of the Ministry of Universities and Colleges (Ontario).

Bogus addresses, no texts for studies. They are not returning exams, they are not communicating effectively, they are claiming accounts are in arrears and demanding full payments...it's all ugly!
