Cottingham Elementary School

Hopefully things at this school have changed. When my child went there it was a public school trying desperately to be a private one. My child who has an above average I.Q was singled out and made to feel like an Idiot. I watched as this happened to a few other "select " students. The staff seemed more interested in their social life than in the education of their students. I saw perfectly fine, bright children left out of school events, as well as social events because they didn't somehow fit the mold. Most of the parents were very wealthy, lived in the surrounding neighborhood and did their best to exclude "select" parents and students, while leaving their own children in the care of nannies. I can honestly describe the behavior of the staff and some parents as rude and ignorant....all the while making it seem that your child wasn't good enough for their school or social circle. An awful experience. We pulled our child out and sent her to a school where people have manners, intellect, and empathy.
