The thing you need to understand about Seaview is that it's in a high needs neighbourhood. The school district possibly haven't got the memo about that and thus the amount of help for kids with extra needs is pretty modest. If your kid has extra needs, consider taking him or her elsewhere. The school has a limited budget for aids, speech therapy etc and while your kid might get pushed along with the bare minimum here, I have decided to move my child elsewhere in the hopes his prospects will be better.

Sensory rooms are a good start, but the demand is so great with some of these kids that one teacher per class Is not enough. Kids with autism get funding for an aid, but kids with SPD fall through the cracks so far as I'm concerned.

If your kid is neurotypical, they'll probably do well here. The school teaches mentorship and community and do an incredible job at that. What they lack is the ability to really make a tangible and effective difference in extra need kids lives - possibly due to the lack of funding.

The teachers love their jobs and do their best though. The kids seem happy for the most part.
