I shop at the Dollarama in Renfrew quite a lot.
The last few times I went to your store it was very messy and there were boxes on the floor In every aisle. As I tried to retrieve an item off a hook a box fell off a push cart and landed on my foot. Thank goodness it was light and didn't injure me. Heaven forbid a heavy box should fall on someone. The other concern I have are wait times when I go to cash out. Sometimes there are only 2 or 3 workers in the store. How can a business be run efficiently and safely with so few people. Finally please advise your employees who smoke to wash their hands and take a breath mint. Some of the odors are quite offensive.
I hope things change for the better.

I shop at the dollarama in Renfrew and usually I have a positive shopping experience. But a couple of weeks ago I needed assistance to find something so I asked the woman who was working in the grocery aisle if there was anymore photo copy paper and she rudely told me if it's not there we must be out. When I asked if she could check to see if there was more in the back she just walked away. At the cash I asked the cashier who that worker was and she told me she was the assistant manager. Wow I was shocked. Anyway another worker asked if she could help so I told her about the copy paper she said we should have some and that she would go and check. I went to the back with her and when she opened the back door lo and behold there was the so called assistant manager smoking out the back door with two other women. Now I know why she didn't want to help me. Also that would explain why it smells so smokey in the store. My sister who lives in behind the store tells me that they smoke out the back door at least 10 times a day. Think it's time to clean house and find workers who actually care about the customer.

I shop at dollarama renfrew on a regular basis. Lately the service is going down hill. Never seems to be enough cashiers. Workers in the store are usually grumpy and unwilling to help. The only one who helps me is a senior man who is very polite and always in good humor. Perhaps the store should hire more older workers who seem to have a better work ethic and know how to treat customers with respect. Used to be a good store but now wait ti.es at cash are very long...

Probably the worst service I have ever had. The store has more than enough staff working in it, yet all the employees have lost sight of why they are actually there. I dealt with a toothless wonder cashier who actually shut down her cash while I was standing in line because she had to go to finish stocking the shelves?! She kept saying 'whatever, whatever' 'I have to stock the shelves you know'. The manager could care less too. I would not spend another penny in this store. The owners need to re-evaluate their hiring process and axe a few people too...

By far the most unprofessional ppl work at St.Laurant shoppping centre location. They hire little kids who can't even count the proper change to give you back and after pocketing $10.00 of my money they refused to count the cash for an extra 10 that they owed me. The young immature girl stood there with the nastiest smurk on her face while the manager argued with me saying they are not over by 10. By far the worst customer service ever recieved.

I shop here occasionally, and it's probably one of the most organized locations. I guess what they lack in customer service, they make up for in cleanliness.

This is more of a response to Carol from AUUSS on her essay "DISSAPPOINTED IN DOLLARAMA"

Shame on YOU Carol, according to Better Business Bureau, AUUSS is not so squeaky clean! The dollarama you've complained about has a better rating than your charity.

As for customer service, are you really surprised? For one, it's a dollar store. What do you expect, a red carpet? Half the employees are kids and people who don't speak English regularly. A job is a job, they need to start a career somewhere.

Second, it's a retail location, of course they don't do charitable donations! (Unless you represent a well-known organization, there's nothing in it for them, no financial gain) C'mon now, stop whining and do better research without bombarding their employees. People are generally less generous when they're being harrassed.

Before commenting on the flaws of other companies, perhaps you should consider volonteering for a more credible organization yourself.

I shop at dollarama occasionally, and its great i love the stuff, its cheap and good quality. However, i went to the dollarama at malvern mall located in scarborough ontario and the cashier was very rude. She threw my change at me, and did not give me a bad when i asked for it. When i told her she was being very rude she replied " I'm not slave i do not have to pack it in the bag for u." Her manager was standing there and laughing. This is unacceptable and I will never shop there again, let a lone i will let everybody know that dollarama service is utterly rude.

I have been shopping at the Dollarama stores for as many years as they have been in operation here in Ottawa. Although the products and prices are great, I have met with some disrepectful behaviour from staff memebers at various locations.

I am a volunteer worker for an organization that supports our deployed soldiers over seas. I have contacted by phone and in person various Dollerama Stores asking to be directed to the head office management team to see about charitable dnoations or discounted items that I might purchase for my men and women soldiers.

I have been spending hundreds of dollars every month to make up these care packages out of my own pocket. All I have ever asked staff for were the names and numbers of people in the organization so that I might be able to plead my case for a good cause, only to be given the brush off at every turn.

How difficult is it to give a regular customer the number or email address of the company that they work for rather than tell me that they don't do donations. How incompetant do they appear in appearing to be ill informed on that information. "I don't Know" Well who signs their paychecks? I didn't want to speak to an assistant manager. Most of them are barely out of highschool.

The Carling Ave Assitant manager refused to give me any numbers blowing me off to call the next day at their store to speak to the district manager. She wouldn't give me the number saying that phoning the next day is my best option.

When I asked if she new who supplies her store with the goods she said yes. I asked her who she answers to from head office..she couldn't tell me. So here we have a staff member who works for Dollarama, that doesn`t know her district managers phone number who said that her manager said to call back the next day. Here we also have a manager that can`t talk to me herself. We have an assistant manager who can`t give me the contact information for access to head office or the district managers office. Who are they protecting? The Pentagon?????

All this being said, given the poor service given to me by Dollarama staff, from the Carling Avenue location and clerks at the Hazeldean Location, I will give my business to Giant Tiger. Good Prices, Excellant service and always with a smile.

Pretty shabby way to treat a Canadian who is giving of her time, effort and money to support the young men and women in our country and in others deployed in Afghanistan and Iraq. Our organization supports soldiers all over the world. Not much if anything is being done from a Canadian perspective to support our troops with care packages from civilians back home.

We make up care packages filled with goodies, books, socks and hygeine products that are difficult for them to get while they are out in the mountains of Iraq and Afghanistan. I am sure that any Canadian family with members of their own family deployed at this time would object to the Dollerama Stores for this dismissive attitude.
Shame on Dollerama and shame on the staff that represent them.
