Tresca Trattoria Ltd, Richmond Hill Reviews (3)
I read the bad reviews and decided to try it for myself.
The Prix Fixe is 3 courses and great value at $25.00.
The Salmon Chowder was served with a smoked salmon on Italian bread, the Veal was so nicely presented with root vegetables and a different sweet potato chip. The trimasu was a great finish to a dinner I felt was well worth the trip.
Server was excellent and I would recommend this restaurant to all.

My husband and I recently attempted to eat here. We have just moved to the area and are looking for new places to eat, so I thought this would be great. Well, we got there just before 8pm. We were greeted by someone at the front door who seated us promptly. And that was the last we saw of anyone. We sat there for at least 20 minutes. A few waiters passed us by and we would look up hopefully, but we were ignored. We had our menus down and empty glasses. We weren't even served water. And at those prices, you'd think they would have bread, but we never found out. We left after our 20 minute wait and I will never go back. Yes, it looks pretty, and there's a patio, but those prices were ridiculous. I'm almost glad that we didn't get served, looks like it would have been a waste of money anyhow.
This restaurant was opened ten years ago by a sweet young girl and I had my fingers crossed that it would do well as she was so nice and restaurants are a tricky business. I'm happy to say it is still open and doing better than ever.
The food is great. Even my brother, who doesn't think they make good food in the suburbs had to admit that it was pretty good. My mother, who never likes any food in restaurants, likes the pizza there. It is basically an italian restaurant but they have food in every category. They have a spicy dip for their bread that is fabulous. The menu has changed over the years but remains excellent. The odd thing has been only so-so but that was few and far between.
The atmosphere is sexy with black table clothes and chair covers and candle light on every table. There are a lot of seats in the window (which overlook a parking lot and Bathurst Street but still make you feel like you are "looking out").
In the summer time they have a patio so you can sit outdoors.
This place is one of our family favourites. Price is 3$ out of 5 compared to downtown.
Footnote - We went back there for Mother's Day 2008. The restaurant had been totally redone by Restaurant Makeover and they did a beautiful job. The place looks classier than ever and there are about 40 more seats. The menu has changed slightly but the food presentation is totally different - very very trendy in appearance) and it tasted better than ever. The place is better than ever.

Sounds like a really nice restaurant. It's really nice to hear of someone opening a restaurant that's not a 'chain-type' & it's done well.
Thanx for sharing this 'special little spot' with the rest of us :)
