Kristy's Restaurants Inc, Ottawa Reviews (2)
The most bizarre experience at Kristy's.
Myself and a couple of friends we're walking down Richmond when i noticed a lady confined to an electric wheelchair having difficulty entering the building.
Naturally I ran over to help her with the door. Once we were in the entrance, a middle aged man opened the second door (I'm assuming this gentlemen is a manager).
As I was about to say goodbye, and thanked the man for helping with the second door, the lady said, very simply, "we had a lot of difficulty getting in here". (Which was very true. She must have been struggling for about 3 minutes in intense heat before i was able to help her).
No reply from the gentleman.
She said it again.
To which he replied "What do you expect. Should we just leave the doors wide open for you? It cost $30,000 to cool this place"
He must have thought i was her son, because half of it was directed towards myself and half of it towards the poor lady.
As an occupational therapist, it sickens me to see someone with a disability treated this way.
I apologized on behalf of the man and had to be on my way.
I've never tried the food at Kristy's, and after this brief experience, I doubt I will.

We found two hairs in our brunch on a very busy day there - and when we asked to speak to the manager, a huffy middle aged man came over to us and proceeded to tell us that "yah, it's a busy day - these things happen" and when the tables next to us started listening in to his ranting at us (that's right - he was ranting at us, we were staying pretty damn calm at this point) he slammed his hand on the table on top of the bills, balling them up in his hand as he did, and snapped "i guess you want me to take care of this today then... but don't bother coming back."
Don't worry!! We never will!!!!!
