The burger was cooked perfectly and tasted great, just the way I like it. The owner/manager was warm and friendly, which added a nice touch to the experience. However, the cashier came across as unwelcoming. Overall, I enjoyed the vibe of the place.

Golden Star Burgers in Thornhill is a total gem if you’re into classic burger joints. Walking in, you get hit with all the nostalgic vibes—super retro, nothing fancy, just that old-school diner feel. Their burgers are legit amazing, with charbroiled patties that are juicy and full of flavor, and you can load them up with toppings however you like. I’d say the poutine is a must-tries too, the portions are big, and the prices are pretty reasonable, so you’re definitely getting your money’s worth. Perfect spot if you’re craving a good, classic burger!

Had a fantastic experience at Golden Star! The Steak on Kaiser and the All Star Burger were both outstanding—juicy, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. The cozy and welcoming atmosphere made it a great spot to enjoy a satisfying meal. Service was friendly and attentive, which added to the charm of the place. While everything was excellent, I felt the fries could have been a bit better. Still, I highly recommend Golden Star to anyone in Toronto looking for a classic burger experience. Golden Star Restaurant has great quality food, but what really stood out was their amazing staff! Mo and the team went above and beyond by writing cute comments in my own language on the burgers, which was such a thoughtful touch. They were incredibly friendly, and the whole experience felt so warm and personal. Definitely going back again!

It was closer to a 3.5-star experience for us. The burger was a bit dry, and the chipotle sauce leaned too sweet. We tried the MVP burger, and for $16, we expected a bit more in terms of flavor.

Not the place it used to be. Food quality has declined. All the fries were broken end pieces. What is that?? Small pop with the order now and they don't even fill the cup. Asked for a refill - they don't give refills. The condiments on my steak sandwich were invisible. Tiny piece of tomato, couldn't see the onions. It was awful.

Revisited this almost forgotten Thornhill greasy-spoon institution. Last visit was pre-Covid!
Had one of the best tasting ' Charbroiled no-filler Hamburger ' for a long while. Well charred, smokey and aromatic with a nice selection of toppings. $20 for a 6oz burger with extra bacon, fries, drink and gravy.

Today we visited Golden Star Burger, one of our favorite spots for a weekend lunch. The homemade burgers and MVPs are incredibly juicy and delicious, making it feel more like a home-cooked meal than fast food. The staff is always friendly and attentive. Today, one of the staff members surprised us with beautiful calligraphy handwriting that truly made our day. Thank you for such a great experience! Highly recommend this place for both the food and the wonderful service!

The home burger with bacon, cheese, sautéed onions and the secret sauce is my favourite burger in the world. Best Onion Rings and French Fries with gravy on the side. The Chocolate or Banana Milk Shakes are my go to shakes. Best Burger joint in the world. No matter what you order you leave happy satisfied and full!

I love golden star. Been going since I was a kid. Great home burger. Amazing fries. I think I scored them too low in my TikTok. Need to revisit.
