This is truly a dining experience. The staff, atmosphere, menu, showmanship and attention to details was top notch.
There are only two of restaurants in Canada one in Toronto and Vancouver, so don’t get them confused with other restaurants with similar names.
Kal (with a K) was excellent waiter and the manager checked on us frequently.

We were treated like royalty from the moment we walked in until the moment we left. Our server, Brigette, was incredibly knowledgeable and guided us through the menu beautifully — from the sushi selections to a stunning Beef Wellington for sharing.

A real highlight was Jessie taking us on a personal tour of the meat chiller, showing off the gorgeous Japanese wagyu alongside a selection of high-end Canadian cuts. It's clear this team is passionate about quality and loves sharing that with guests.

To top off the night, Afzal, the restaurant manager, sent over a personal dessert tray that was the perfect finish to an incredible meal.

Black + Blue is more than just a steakhouse — it's an experience. The service, the knowledge, the attention to detail — everything was top notch. Can't wait to come back!

**A Soul-Filling Experience at Blue+Black ❤️**

My first time in Toronto, and my first-ever experience dining alone. I’m trying new healing tools for my soul, and somehow this experience became so much more than a meal.

A special shoutout to Neil, the concierge at the St. Regis Toronto, for recommending Blue+Black. From the moment I walked in, MJ and the entire hosting team welcomed me with such genuine warmth that I immediately knew I was in good hands.

I thought I was dining alone, but I quickly realized I wasn’t. Carla took such incredible care of me, and the food was absolutely spectacular. I felt seen, heard, welcomed, and genuinely appreciated for simply being there. My soul was fed.

So much so that I came back the very next day—and sat at the beautiful bar. Another first for me! The bartender was wonderful, the food was delicious, and once again I was greeted by MJ and the hosting team, along with my favorite, Carla. ❤️

I asked to speak with her manager, and in walked Mikey B. His spirit was warm, welcoming, and genuine. He embraced me and my journey with love, wisdom, encouragement, and words that I’ll carry with me “continue the journey because you are deserving!” Along with a sweet reminder lol!

Blue+Black isn’t just a restaurant. It’s a **soul filler**.

I basked in incredible food, exceptional service, and most importantly, beautiful, genuine hearts. I’m eternally grateful that my very first solo dining experience happened not only in Toronto, but at Blue+Black.

Thank you for reminding me that sometimes, when we think we’re alone, we’re actually being held in ways we never expected. ❤️✨

We chose to celebrate our anniversary at Black+Blue, but unfortunately, the evening was very disappointing. While the appetizers—the Caesar salad and lobster bisque—were decent, they didn't quite hit the mark. The main courses were even more let down; both the filet and the NY striploin lacked the quality we expected from a premium steakhouse. Additionally, the wild mushroom and lobster mashed potato sides were quite underwhelming. To add to the frustration, the service was sub-par, and we had to repeatedly ask for basic water refills. Given that we noted this was a milestone anniversary, it was disheartening that the occasion wasn't acknowledged at all. Overall, it was a very let-down experience for what should have been a special night.

We had an amazing dinner! The restaurant was great. Atmosphere was terrific! Our waitstaff were friendly & professional. The drinks were very good. We got the Brioche to start - it was almost a meal in itself. The bread was delicious! As our main course we got the Beef Wellington and was exceptional! They cut it and plated it tableside. We were too full for desserts. We also didn’t do the tableside beef tartar or tableside Caesar salad (but we got to see them being done at other tables - very neat to watch). It was a pricy dinner, be prepared to pay, but it was well worth it for an anniversary dinner.

I visited Black and Blue because I was curious to try the filet mignon steak and the lobster mashed. When the food arrived the tasteless rubbery fillet mignon tenderloin steak and mashed lobster with shell pieces destroyed my teeth and one veneer fell out. The manager Jesse on duty failed to follow up with me and to reimburse for the painful and embarrassing experience I’ve had at the restaurant. I will never recommend this place as food and after service is the worst.

I wanted to try this steakhouse as I heard it was happening for ambience and steak. The steak was so chewy and the lobster mashed has shells in it that were difficult to see in the mushy potatoes. While eating both my tooth veneer came off from the tasteless rubbery steak mixed with lobster shell. Upon advising the manager on duty Jesse, he gave his card and said to contact him if I need anything. I wrote and send copies of receipts for repair of my tooth but heard nothing. It’s been a month!!! Do not go to this place for steak!!! Management unresponsive and no solution provided for the awful tasting food that was ill prepared and causing harm to my teeth!

We are visiting Toronto for a few days, and turned up without a reservation for lunch. We were given a great table straight away. The staff are amazing, hard working, and made us feel welcome. The food is top notch, we had the set menu with wine pairing and couldn't fault it.

Came here for our 25th Anniversary and the service was amazing. Even got to tour their meat locker. Every one here was very knowledgable on cuts of meat. We came on a weeknight, so definitely the vibe was very much on the corporate side, seeing it being in the Toronto's financial district.

Steak was overcooked and not very flavorful. Salad was overdressed. Service was good. To top it off, we both got sick— think it was the lettuce. VERY expensive and not worth it!

Black + Blue Toronto is a beautiful, modern restaurant that certainly delivers on atmosphere. The space is stylish, upscale, and visually impressive, and the food presentation is excellent.

The standout of the evening was the service. Blaze and Robert were exceptional—attentive, professional, knowledgeable, and genuinely contributed to a great dining experience.

The food was very good, but for me it didn't quite live up to the price point. If you're enjoying steak and a couple of glasses of wine, it's easy for two people to spend $500 or more. At that level, expectations are understandably high.

My biggest criticism was the seating and table spacing. The seating wasn't particularly comfortable, and the tables were positioned so close together that when the table behind us was being served, it felt like staff and guests were practically on top of us. For a premium steakhouse experience, I expected a little more privacy and comfort.

Overall, Black + Blue is a great choice for a special occasion, celebration, or if you're looking for a trendy, upscale night out. However, having dined at several high-end steakhouses, I would still choose Hy's or Barberian's over Black + Blue. While the service was outstanding and the restaurant is beautiful, I found those restaurants delivered a stronger overall experience and better value for the money.

We went with friends and family to Saturday morning brunch before heading to a Jays game. The food was perfect, the service and staff was great, and we had a perfect table on the patio. The price was median, which was a pleasant surprise. Good value for money with large portions. I expected to pay more.
