The Fish & Chips

If you’re a fish and chip snob, this is THE place.
Boathouse is the standard fish n chips place of Belleville, on the water, great vibe, seating and service. HOWEVERRRR if you want the best fish you’ve had in a long time, get a plate of halibut and chips at this spot. I was in shock and can’t wait to go back.
It was perfectly battered, thin enough to showcase the fish, thick enough to get a good crunch. It stayed in place, it didn’t have that partially cooked part in between the fish and outside. The chips were actual chips, flat, thick, soft, crispy. Absolutely delightful. Washed it down with a coke and paid about $25.
Service was lovely and genuine.

Amazing little place to go for some good fish and chips or a really good burger. The people are extremely friendly here and welcoming. The food served was hot. And done right. The portions other than the one recommendation I would have were quite good. Enough to call it a good complete meal.

My only tiny recommendation for them if they read this, coleslaw is cheap. You don't have to be skimpy on it considering all the other portions were appropriately sized.

Other than that. I highly highly recommend this place for both fish and chips and burgers.

Here's my honest review of the time my wife & I visited "The fish and chips" in Belleville.

When we arrived there weren't too many guests and there was plenty of parking. We were immediately greeted upon entry and sat by the windows. The server was kind and reflected a positive attitude which was nice considering she was all alone serving the whole restaurant.

We ordered the classic, haddock and chips and man oh man was it absolutely delicious. Reminded us of the fish and chips we had in Halifax. The batter was cooked to perfection and the fries were so tasty! The portions were HUGE and service was prompt.

While dining there were a lot of locals taking "take-out" and it was no shocker as this restaurant has a good thing going.

Overall, if you're craving some classic tasting Fish and Chips 🐟 🍟 you MUST check out this location.

Visited the town for the solar eclipse 2024 and stumbled upon this restaurant.
Didnt really do any research and just walked in, and surprisingly the food was really good.
Fish was very well fried with clean oil, making it very crispy.

Having a fish & salad option was amazing because i normally cant finish the fries (a bit to greasy afterall). The salad was good too.

I will definitely re-visit this restaurant if i come back to Belleville again.
