Cafe Nido, Vancouver Reviews (3)
After reading the reviews we decided to try this restaurant with a friend. Will never go back !
First of all the staff, especially the older man who seated us, we're so unfriendly. For the appetizer we ordered the prosciutto which was $18 and consisted of 3 small pieces and a few small pieces of fruit on top. Next came the Caesar salad which was tasteless and very dry. The main course I ordered was pasta with wild boar and there were 3 small pieces of meat in it. The sauce was nothing special, very ordinary. Next came the dessert, limoncello cheesecake with blueberry coulis. This tasted old and could not taste any lemon flavour! There were only 2 items which I enjoyed, the bread (when I asked for more received a strange look from the waitress) and the wine. Would NOT recommend this restaurant. Way over priced for what we received !!!

What a fantastic location, I was invited there by a friend last Tuesday and I really enjoyed a pleasant dinner, plus a nice conversation...and it's so difficult to manage to chat in all these new "trendy spots".
Cafe Il Nido is a place I would recommend to anyone looking for a traditional Italian meal prepared using also local ingredients.
Cooking is tasting yet light and the cozy, but sophisticated atmosphere makes you enjoy even more.
I shared a few appetizers and was very happy with my carpaccio with shaved parmesan in a dijion dressing. Then I opted for a tasty cavatelli pasta, delicious and just the right size.
We all appreciated very much the friendly and attentive staff and the wine that was recommended, a Dolcetto d'Alba 2010 by Massolino.
I will definitely find lots of excuses to go back as soon as possible, location is downtown so business lunches??
Can't wait for the patio to be open too!
