Craganmor Point Resort

I stayed at Craganmor Point Resort in May with my husband and two kids. It was awesome! My kids loved it from the boat ride over to the boat ride back.

They both had fun playing in the water which was clean and clear. They were able to run around and explore as I felt perfectly comfortable there. My son caught lots of fish which kept him busy and happy.

While we bought most of our food as the cabins are equipped with full kitchens and a BBQ we did eat in the restaurant and the food was delicious.

Every night that we were there we built a campfire and the kids roasted marshmallows.

The cottage was comfortable and clean and I loved sitting out on the screened in porch in the mornings with just the sound of the waves and birds surrounding me.

The owners live on the property and were very friendly and accessible.

What a great start to the summer! We just returned from the May long weekend at Craganmor Point Resort in Georgian Bay. We had been to a friend's cottage in Georgian Bay before and wanted to return with the whole family. The hosts Natalie and Matt are very friendly and knowledgeable. My 9 year old son is an avid nature enthusiast and Matt took us on an incredible nature tour by boat. Matt got us within 30 ft of a hunting Great Blue Heron which is my son's favorite bird, and which he'd only seen in the wild once before. We also saw several Ospray's, a Peregrin Falcon, 3 active Beaver lodges, a swimming muskrat, as well as many ducks with ducklings and geese and goslings, to name a few. That was followed up by an incredibly successful fishing trip. I landed 6 of 7 fish we hooked including 3 large pike (one of which we had for supper that night!). The food was great and the cabin was a very clean rustic cottage, complete with full kitchen, and a shower. The beach area was great for the kids and has a large shallow area for them to play in. The scenery is stunning and the location is very private (only accessible by boat). A great family summer vacation destination. Highly recommended. We are definitely going to return again this summer!

I gave Craganmore Point Resort a 5 star rating because it was exactly what we were looking for. It is not fancy in the least but the hosts Natalie and Matt are terrific and the food is great. The cottages are rustic but clean, comfortable and in the beautiful setting of Georgian Bay islands. Our annual fishing trip has spanned over 40 years and we normally have 9-14 attendees. All concurred we should return to Craganmore as our experience was very positive. While there we met two other groups that continue to return for the same reasons. It seems Natalie, Matt and their staff are doing it right! I look forward to our next visit.
