Dr. Tolat grew up around medicine. His father is a kidney specialist. “I was able to shadow him when I was a freshman in high school. I was intrigued by being part of a team that helps someone at their most vulnerable point. That’s what motivated me to pursue a career in medicine.” Dr. Tolat was drawn to hospital medicine by the variety of conditions he would be called on to treat, working as a team member with specialists as needed, and the joy of interacting with and advocating for his patients. “I relate to my patients human to human, rather than just provider to patient. That goes a long way to build trust.” Dr. Tolat, a native of Houston, Texas, has a special connection to Blessing and the region it serves. His wife is a native of the Carrollton, Illinois, area and a graduate of Blessing-Rieman College of Nursing and Health Sciences. They met in Houston and are happy to relocate near his wife’s family. “I enjoy the team here at Blessing Hospital and I am excited about the opportunity to get involved with the community.”
