Such creative and delectable cocktails! The views are incredible. I can't believe I've lived in the neighbourhood for several years without thinking of visiting - I'll definitely be back many more time. Obligatory photo included:
I visited the Writers Room Bar at Park Hyatt and absolutely loved the experience. The espresso martini was rich, strong, and perfectly balanced. The dessert had the ideal harmony of sweet and sour flavors, very refined and delicious. I also enjoyed the small touches like the popcorn, which made the experience both elegant and cozy.
The atmosphere is calm, stylish, and relaxing, with a beautiful view and a refined lobby vibe. It’s the perfect spot if you want to enjoy quality drinks and dessert in a sophisticated yet peaceful setting.

The writers room bar had some hits and some miss but the overall ambience and the friendly staff made this place a worthwhile visit!
Hits of the night:
- very iced latte martini: light, creamy and sweet, taste like an alcoholic ice capp
- oysters: fresh and sweet
- grilled calamari: ⭐️ of the night , perfectly tender and a wonderful grilled taste
Miss of the night:
- korean fried chicken: this tasted more like sesame chicken , not bad but not good overall mediocre
- beef tartare: wayyy too salty, needed some fried nori chips to balance out the salt

Great oyster spot and espresso martinis.. with a view! Recommend a reservation for prime dining times.
Have a great NYE event as well (get your tickets early!)

This bar has an absolutely stunning view of the city 😍 it’s worth going just for that alone. The cocktails are excellent and the beef tartare was very flavorful and definitely worth trying!!!
The only downside is that the staff wasn’t very friendly, but overall it’s still a great spot for a special evening in Toronto😍

Great view of the city and proper martinis. Would recommend if you are visiting Toronto or for a date night before or after dinner.
Absolutely loved our evening at this lounge bar! The Old Fashioned was perfectly crafted-smooth,flavorful, and one of the best I've had. The atmosphere was a moody sophistication and we were lucky to enjoy the gorgeous skyline views on a perfect summer's eve.
Been here 3 times so far and it’s becoming one of my chill favourite spots - Love the ambiance! The food is pretty decent. My favourite dessert is the White chocolate pot de creme. So good! 🤌
3 guys out for drinks. My tab = $1,350. No food. INSANELY priced. Stunning Toronto skyline views. Without the patio overlooking the panorama, this place would be unknown.
My favourite restaurant in Toronto, and that’s saying a lot. The view is spectacular, the service is great, the menu is exquisite. I mean, what else do you need? Go !! Great date spot , intimate and cozy. As a writer, I got a kick out of the menu items all having literary names of some kind. Love this place.
Nice spot to grab a cocktail or two and enjoy the scenery. There is a nice view of the Toronto Downtown Skyline. The cocktails were decent. The service was alright; seemed like there was only 1 server working all of the tables so after we ordered our first round, we didn't see him again at our table until we asked for the check. I would recommend this spot for the view.
I recently had a deeply disappointing experience at the Writer’s Room Bar, and I feel compelled to share it. The level of unprofessionalism and lack of transparency displayed by the server (Michael) and the manager (Evan) was unacceptable, especially for a venue under the prestigious Park Hyatt brand.
During our visit, my partner and I ordered a Hibiki highball ($42). However, the server unexpectedly brought out Hibiki 21 without clarifying the price. When we asked about the cost, the server said, “Let me find out and come back.” Not wanting to delay our evening, we said, “Just bring it,” assuming the cost for 2 oz would fall within the range of $150–$200.
To our shock, the final bill listed 2 oz of Hibiki 21 at $610. At no point were we informed of this price beforehand. When we raised our concerns, the server and manager unfairly blamed us, claiming we had “denied” hearing the price which was completely untrue as the server never provided the price.
The manager’s response was especially unprofessional and condescending. He said, “It’s Hibiki 21, you know it’s a premium bottle, and you ordered it without checking the price, so it’s your fault.” This dismissive attitude was appalling.
My intention was to order a highball a mixed drink with soda not a rare, premium whiskey neat. It’s baffling that the server would choose to serve such an expensive bottle for a highball without clarifying the price beforehand.
To make matters worse, instead of addressing the situation professionally, the manager rudely told us not to return and essentially banned us. This kind of behavior is unacceptable in any hospitality setting and reflects poorly on the establishment and the Park Hyatt name.
Basic transparency in pricing and respectful communication are fundamental in the service industry, yet this establishment failed on both counts. As someone who has visited before, I am shocked at how much the service has declined.
I strongly recommend addressing the following issues:
1. Train servers to be transparent and knowledgeable about pricing, especially with premium items.
2. Train managers to handle customer concerns professionally and respectfully.
This experience has completely tarnished my view of the Writer’s Room Bar and Park Hyatt as a whole. I hope the management takes feedback like this seriously and implements changes to prevent similar incidents in the future.

6:30 Reservation on a cold Saturday night. The view is lovely, its a coldly designed room with lots of hard surfaces which makes it loud, but the fireplace lightens things up. We had a less than great server who took quite a while to serve us our Martinis and screwed up the order after we repeated how we wanted them 3 times. They have made their shots smaller from the old days this is a 1 and 1/2 shot Martini at the most. Old days they did 2 oz. and they have amped their price to $24.00 per drink. Really? Park Hyatt?? The least you can do is throw in a full bowl of nuts (as in the past) for that price and not stale popcorn and peanuts. Bill for 4 drinks $120.00 Learn how to make a dirty Martini and buy better quality olives if you want to be viewed as premium.
You need top tier servers and Bartenders as well.. The only reason I come back is your view ..I used to come for the great drinks and quality service from career bartenders.
