Such a cute little bunch spot! Tables and very very close to one another. Got the pancakes and shakshuka and both were absolutely amazing!

The service is not great, kind of snobby especially for a cafe restaurant. Our server clearly didn’t know the menu very well. We asked what the “gilda” appetizer was. She responded with “I don’t know… do you want me to check?” Um… yes? The prices are far too high for what you get. That being said the oxtail marmalade was a delicious and unique dish. I’d perhaps get it for takeaway in the future, but I wouldn’t dine-in here again. The burger was ok, overpriced and nothing special. At the beginning of our meal we were informed we had 1.5hrs at our table. We finished our meal in less than 40mins, so I don’t see the need in rushing us out. But instead of offering a dessert menu or coffee our server asked if we were ready for the bill. Ended up just getting dessert across the street. Overall a mediocre experience.

Love Manita always, but tonight on the patio with our server Emma was especially great. She found out I was a somm and we ended up chatting about wine all night. We love Emma đź–¤

The waitress was fantastic. The food was incredible, and all of us enjoyed our meals. I went with the burger and fries... INSANE. Cooked perfectly and so moist! Best burger I've had in a long time.

Side note: we did have to wait a bit for a table (Tuesday afternoon… it was bumping). But was TOTALLY worth the wait. I would recommend a reservation to avoid this!

Such great staff, they really made for a day on Ossington. One of their friends had gotten married that morning and came to Manita to celebrate! Very cool ambiance.

Delicious food! High quality ingredients throughout. Nuanced flavour combinations.

Delicious salads, breakfast options, sandwiches. I’ve enjoyed every meal I’ve had there since discovering it.

Delicious coffee.

Gluten free bread and options!

I wanted to try a new spot for brunch and made a reservation a few weeks in advance since the restaurant is quite small. We arrived on time and were seated immediately by a friendly staff member. I ordered the Quiche and Salad ($20) and my friend ordered the Mediterranean ($32). The vibe was very chill - everyone seemed to be local, which gave it that cozy neighborhood feel.

Our plates arrived quickly, and my first impression was that the portions were on the smaller side. I held off on judging until I tasted everything. The quiche was fluffy, eggy, and had a soft, buttery crust - good, but nothing extraordinary. The “salad” was essentially a few pieces of bib lettuce with vinaigrette.

My friend’s dish came with squash, peppers, lentils, an egg, and a side of pita - simple ingredients that aren’t particularly costly - but she enjoyed everything on her plate.

Overall, the food is good and the service is excellent. In my opinion, it just feels pricey for what’s offered, especially compared to other brunch spots. Still, it has a nice atmosphere and friendly staff, so it may be worth a try depending on what you’re looking for.

Food, community, location, drinks, memories, what more could you ask for from one of the most meaningfully built and run spots in the city. From special birthdays, to my engagement party, to a million moments in between, Manita is where I want to be, there is no one I trust more with moments that mean so much.

A charming hidden gem on Ossington.
Manita is a very small Mediterranean-inspired café/restaurant with a warm and cozy atmosphere — wooden floors, soft lighting, and a relaxed neighbourhood feel. Perfect for slow brunches and conversations.

Tried:
✅Mediterranean Plate — beautifully presented, fresh, and flavorful. Warm pita was excellent.
✅Falafel Plate — crispy outside, soft inside, with a bright herb salad and tahini. Light and not greasy.
âś…French fries also looked great.

Notes:
✅Space is tiny; ideal for 1–2 people.
âś…Great option if you prefer lighter meals (no red meat, no heavy/oily dishes).
âś…Ossington area is lovely to explore.
✅Weekend reservations fill up quickly — booking a week in advance is recommended.
✅Average spend: $30–40 per person.

Overall, a cozy and satisfying brunch spot with fresh Mediterranean flavors.

We have eaten at Manita Rosedale for lunch and two dinners and always, we have loved the food and the staff is really nice. We went for our daughter's birthday in April and sat upstairs, by the window in the corner. I guess we are making this a tradition, as we came in December for our son's birthday. If you want a quiet evening, this is not the place for you - as it's so busy (a little loud) but lots of fun. If you like high energy places, then choose Manita Rosedale. We had wine by the glass, some beers, 2 Steak Frites, 1 Brick Chicken, and a Manita Cheeseburger. For dessert, we shared a Sticky Toffee Pudding and a piece of Carrot Cake. Both desserts were incredible delicious and they were very large portions. As it was our daughter's birthday, they very kindly did not charge for her dessert!!! Dinner was $319 including tax, but before tip. The staff all really seem to enjoy working here - it's a great atmosphere!

This is very very mid in terms of food, service, ambiance, etc. And the prices dont reflect the quality if the food. They served my friend mussels where almost half of her mussels hadn't even opened... wouldn't the kitchen know better then the send that out? No standard when sending the same dish out. My table ordered mussels three different times and all 3 had different amounts of bread. So bizarre.

Forgettable food. Forgettable restaurant.

We visited the Rosedale location for dinner. It replaced a popular local spot and the menu and ambiance looked promising. Unfortunately, the food was only average and overpriced - $30+ for burgers, $40+ for salmon, $55-80 for steak. Most astonishing of all: average price of around $30 for a 5-oz glass of wine - comparable to the fanciest places in the area. Service was indifferent, but at least the ambiance was nice.

Finally tried this place on Canada Day. We walked in for dinner at 7pm and was able to get a table for 3 inside immediately.

I ordered the burger and it was overcooked. The server managed my expectations at first saying it is served medium rare. I wasn't planning to send it back, but the servers didn't check up on me for me to give them feedback. It wasn't a bad burger 3/5, but I was expecting a bit more for $31. The fries were super crunchy and could almost chip a tooth.

Don't think I'd return to give it another go or recommend. Prefer Richmond Station or Pearl Diver.

We came for the burger after reading about it being one of the best in the city on BlogTo. It was good, but I thought that the patty wasn’t thick enough and lacking some flavour I thought the bacon would add to it. It was pretty good, but not great. The options for beer were limited and the cocktail list seemed to be standard.

First time dining here and couldn’t have loved it anymore. The oxtail chutney is a top 5 dish in the city, will definitely be back to devour it again. Elissa was so attentive and gave my friend and I such a lovely service. 100% recommend!
