Came for dinner with some furiends. The food was decent and rustic, but the service was ruff.

-Sourdough pancake with cured, smoked, and confit mackerel: Doglicious and flavorful, though small for four dawgs.

-Escarole salad with sweet potato: Crisp escarole, but the sweet potato was soft and almost mushy. The vinaigrette leaned overly acidic and lacked balance.

-Pork platter: Included pork belly, pork chop, sausage, and sauerkraut, plus mashed potatoes. Sausage was undercooked, pork chop slightly dry, and the sauerkraut lacked acidity. Mashed potatoes were buttery and enjoyable.

-Potato pavé with garlic butter and bay scallop: Tender layers, but not crispy on the edges as expected. Garlic butter was a nice touch.

-Dessert: Chocolate cake was moist and soft. We got a side order of vanilla ice cream with strawberry compote - the compote was doglicious and complemented the cake and ice cream well.

Service? Slow as a lazy pup. We had a 6:00 pm reservation and left at 9:00 pm.
Food and drinks took a long time to arrive (felt like furever), water bowl refills took over 10 minutes, and our server repeatedly dropped cutlery and bumped into the table. Dessert, which requires no cooking and minimal prep, took over 20 minutes to arrive.

Overall, I’d come back for the cake - but dinner? Not worth chasing my tail over.

Tried this spot for the first time last night. Had an absolutely incredible experience. The food is not only outstanding and creative, but the service was a total 10/10. Our server was kind, knowledgeable, and approachable. A special shoutout to their in house homemade vermouth, which was the best vermouth I’ve ever had. Will definitely be coming back with friends and family!!

We had a 6:30pm reservation on a Wednesday night and it wasn't super packed inside. Volume of the restaurant was perfect, I didn't even notice the music - was perfect for catching up with friends.

FYI: I am not an adventurous food person however this year I trying to step out of my comfort zone.

We ordered the following between 3 people and it was enough:
- Gouda Rutabaga Dip [delicious, warm cheese how could it not be great]
- (forgot the name but parsnips + seaweed sauce) [not my fave, but I'm not a fan of seaweed]
- Braised Beef Cheek [delicious - the meat fell a part that's how tender]
- Chicken Sausage au Chalet [surprisingly delicious]
- Fall Bright Chocolate Cake [this cake was 10/10. Life. Changing. I don't use the term 'life changing' loosely - the "diplomat cream" was so yummy and needs to be eaten with the cake. I would go back JUST for this cake.]

Oh the staff was lovely and very attentive!

Overall I'd definitely recommend it for an evening out catching up with friends.

Came across this place on social media and decided to give it a try. From my understanding, the menu changes often depending on the season and what ingredients they have. We ordered the steamed Cinderella pumpkin, smoked pork, and beef bourguignon. For dessert, tried the chocolate cake. The steamed pumpkin was interesting but too much acidity from the pickled shallots and carrots atop. Beef bourguignon was incredibly tender but flavour-wise a little one note. I loved the crispy bits on top though as it added something different texture wise. The smoked pork was my favourite. Paired with the creamy beans and roasted veg, it wasn’t too bland and you never got tired of eating it. Chocolate cake is a must have though! So moist and not too heavy. Though the service was very good from our waiter, I was surprised by how long we had to wait for our mains. There were probably about 6 other people in the restaurant, and everyone ordered pretty much the same main courses. It took about an hour to get our dishes served when everyone else already got their plates. I imagine the beef bourguignon was already cooked and not made on the spot. I would give this place another try if I happen to be in the area.

I recently visited FallBright Tavern for a pre-birthday dinner, and overall, it was an enjoyable experience with a few bumps along the way. We had a small incident that caused us to be 20 minutes late, but the host was incredibly accommodating. He ensured we were seated right away and made us feel welcome despite the delay. It was a nice touch that made the evening start on a positive note.
We started with drinks, some beers and a cocktail, which were refreshing. While the menu didn’t feature a vegetarian main course, the chef/host went above and beyond to accommodate us, offering to prepare a vegetarian option if needed. That was a thoughtful gesture and certainly appreciated.
The ambiance of the place was relaxed and inviting, with no complaints there. It felt like a comfortable spot to spend time with good company.
Now, onto the food. We ordered three appetizers and a main course. The highlight was definitely the main course: a chicken sausage with jerk seasoning. It was bursting with flavor and truly delicious. Unfortunately, the appetizers didn’t live up to the same standard. The sourdough bread with butter and oil was served cold, which was a bit of a letdown, and the cheddar cornbread was also cold and falling apart into crumbs. The accompanying sauce was tasty, but the cornbread itself needed more warmth and moisture to shine.
The pumpkin dish was a bit confusing, it didn’t quite meet our expectations, and there were too many flavours competing, making the whole dish feel unbalanced. It had an odd taste overall, which didn’t quite come together.
For dessert, we tried the plum cake, and unfortunately, it didn’t hit the mark either. It was dry and lacked any substantial plum flavor, even though it was supposed to be a "drunken" plum cake. It was a bit of a disappointment given how much we were looking forward to it.
From a price perspective, I felt the meal was a bit on the expensive side for what was offered. The quality of the food was good, but considering the daily menu changes, the prices felt a little too high for the experience.
In conclusion, the restaurant shows a lot of promise, especially with its accommodating service and great main course options. However, there are some areas that could definitely be improved, from the appetizers to the dessert, as well as the pricing. It’s clear they’re putting effort into their food, but it might need a little more fine-tuning to justify the price point.

No words can describe how phenomenal my experience was here. Their menu is seasonal so the food feels fresh and exciting, the inside is cozy like a house, the servers are *real* servers who know the menu and are sociable.
Couldn’t recommend this place enough.
In all my life living in TO, this is easily one of the best meals I’ve had.
So I got a sea bream + veggie dish and my friend got pork belly + cornmeal. We also got a side of bread/olive oil and some pickled beets. Just wow. Pork belly was clearly cooked four hours as it melted in your mouth. The sea bream had a buttery, lemon sauce that was just sooooo good. And the beets!! Crunchy, unique, bright. And to end it, we shared a slice of the wild blueberry pie. Classic taste to it.

If you’re in the area, def come here.

We recently celebrated our wedding anniversary at The Fall Bright Tavern and it was a beautiful experience. We were greeted by Chef Healey, who provided very attentive service throughout our dinner. From the stellar wine to the comforting, flavourful dishes to the brandy sampling that blew our minds, we enjoyed every minute of our time at this gem. We can't wait to go back!

Had the pleasure of trying Fall Bright’s Vegetable Menu! Don’t sleep on the quick pickled cucumbers or the creamed corn. Both simple dishes, but super flavourful. If you’re a fan of sour notes, try the beets. The acid is rounded out by the sweetness of the puréed beet sauce. This new version of the pork chop is so tasty, my favourite was the gooseberry sauce on top.
Their new “drunken apricot cake” for sure beats out the chocolate cake! A must try.

I highly recommend going on a Tuesday evening, less crowded and more intimate vibes. Can’t recommend this place more!

There are several different sections to enjoy at the Fall Bright Tavern: Back patio, bar, and seating in the front. We reserved a spot and enjoyed a table right by the open front window, which was ideal for our dinner date. I previously enjoyed the back patio for drinks and appreciated the covering above, so we were shaded from the sun and the random sprinkles of rain that day, so know that you're covered if you choose it and it rains. The bathrooms are tucked away and separate from everything else, spacious and clean.

Service was great. We were greeted by the chef, who offered to put our bags behind the bar while we ate. Our server was very attentive, but gave us space to enjoy each other's company. Drinks were brought to us quickly followed by our appetizer, and the made-to-order dishes were brought out once we finished the mains. The server was able to accommodate our request for extra time before dessert.

I'd describe the food as elevated pub style, which is a favourite of my partner. The cheddar pickled dip was simple and great for pickle lovers. The beef brisket was beyond moist with deep flavours and the star of the plate, but I really loved the sweet potatoe too and I secretly wish there was a little more of on my place because it was so simple and so good. My partner has the BC sablefish, which I tried. It was good and light with a lot of components. As with the brisket, the sauce on the fish was great.

For drinks, we had a rhubarb cocktail, which was more sweet than tart and some beers. The crisp beer cut nicely with the richness of the brisket, so I'd recommend that combo.

The absolute star of the show was the chocolate cake, which was literally the best chocolate cake I've ever had in my life. I'll be going back just to order a slice. The slice is huge, light, moist with deeply rich a flavorful icing. It's big and rich enough to share between two people, but I'd recommend getting it for yourself and hoarding the leftovers if you can stop yourself from devouring it all.

I had the pleasure of visiting The Fall Bright Tavern for the first time during their BBQ Burger Bash over the long weekend and what an incredible experience it was!

The atmosphere was lively and full of great vibes, with sunshine, bustling tables, and the sound of laughter all around. Everyone seemed to be enjoying the amazing food and enjoying the long weekend! .

My guests and I lucked out with the perfect table right in front of the BBQ, giving us a front-row view of the chef working his magic.

We started with three standout sides: a bright, fresh asparagus salad, a well-balanced and flavorful pasta salad, and a crunchy Caesar salad with just the right tartness. Then came the star of the show: the BBQ burger. Cooked perfectly medium, it had caramelized onions for a touch of sweetness and a creamy cheese sauce that I’m still dreaming about. Every bite was absolutely delicious. Then for dessert, the mostly delicious chocolate cake!

What truly elevated the afternoon, though, was the exceptional service. From helpful email coordination with the owner to a genuinely warm welcome upon arrival, every interaction was friendly, professional, and full of positive energy.

I can’t wait to return, whether for another fun event or a special celebration. The Fall Bright Tavern has definitely earned a spot on my go-to list!
