I chose to become a nurse practitioner because it allowed me to expand my clinical knowledge and take on greater responsibility in managing patient care while still maintaining the comprehensive, patient-centered approach of nursing that I am passionate about. I believe in recognizing that each patient is unique with their own values, preferences, and circumstances. I strive to build trust and open communication with patients while empowering them to be an active part of their own care. This involves actively listening to patients, understanding their perspectives, and involving them in decision-making. It is always my goal to consider their physical, emotional, and social needs as a whole and not just their physical condition or illness. I believe in integrating advanced clinical skills with compassion and empathy to provide the best care possible. Outside of work, I enjoy cooking, sporting events, church, the beach, and spending time with my husband and children. My family is my greatest joy.
