Years ago The Dundas Valley School of Art had some excellent, QUALITY children's programs and instructors. Our kids would literally run from the car to their classes and always had something new to discover, even if working with the same teacher or within a class they'd taken several times before.
Unfortunately, some of the best teachers are no longer at the school and what's offered now is not of the same caliber. Currently the word "awesome" is frequently used in course descriptions, but that has not been the experience for students, or the impression formed by parents. Projects do not involve the same depth of exploration and creativity. Even the course descriptions and bios on the website are poorly written and contain obvious errors. There is not the variety, uniqueness and thoughtful organization evident in the past.
Things seem to have been going DOWNHILL - many classes are cancelled, but many of the same offerings are still made available every term. Areas have included such things as "Minecraft" and "skateboards", but no true education on the rich and varied world of art and creativity. The new building may indicate a certain level of quality, but that has not been reflected in what it has to offer.
