Hello Everyone,
Once upon a time (3 months ago), my family had to put our home on sale. We were looking for a way to save money, so after some research we decided to put our humble abode on sale with Home at Ease Realty. Home at Ease agents will sale your home for 1% commission. We invited the agent to our home because we weren't we wanted to put our home on sale with a "discount real estate company". After our meeting with the Home at Ease agent we decided to go ahead and use Home at Ease.
We upset our family friend who is a Re Max agent by going with Home at Ease, not to mention we used this Re Max agent to sell our previous home. But our Re Max friend was not willing to go less than 2.5% and on a $500 000 that means a $10 000 savings going with Home at Ease.
After officially selling our last month, I can honestly say going with Home at Ease was the best decision. Not only was the agent very nice and easy to deal with, we also saved $10 000. I also believe that if we used a Re Max or Royale Lepage that agent would have sold our home for the same price but we would have paid a larger commission.
I know that selling a house is a very big deal, so I would suggest meeting with a Home at Ease agent and see how you feel, you don't have to go with them.
The one thing I did realize is that a "listing" for a real estate agent is very important and we have upset a friend, but I think we did the right thing because we saved some money.
