BEAR Steak Sandwiches

Quick service and friendly staff! I enjoyed their original beef steak sandwich. The steak was juicy and tender, and bread was soft and pillowy. This is literally what you’d expect from a steak sandwich.

Tried Bear Steak Sandwiches and honestly didn’t expect it to be that good. The steak was super tender, well seasoned, and loaded into the sandwich without being overdone. It’s messy in the best way and actually filling, which I appreciated. Simple menu, no gimmicks — just a really solid steak sandwich done right. Would 100% go back.

Juicy steak sandwich, medium rare perfectly cooked, bread is soft, sauce is excellent, amazing combination!

Love their sandwiches, amazing taste. Reasonable price for the food. Quick service. This location isn't as amazing as the College location for me, I ate at both many times now, just not 100% similar. The Well location sandwiches feel a bit oiler, the sauce as well. One time we ordered, the bread wasn't as fresh and with those Portuguese buns, it's easy to tell when it's not fresh. Friendly staff. Depending on the day and time, The Well could get busy, hard to find seats right away, but you can with a few mins wait. I find these sandwiches are BEST when you eat it right away while it's warm

Steak sandwich and chimichurri topping were delicious! Staff should try and communicate wait time with people, was waiting the entire time, and they never called my order despite the sandwich being ready!

BEST STEAK SANDWICH IN TOWN! Pretty solid, amazing taste, always on point. I’ve been eating more than 10 times and never disappointed. Also ordered thru Uber Eats and still good. I’ve been tried the burger and also gooood. You must order the chimi mayo and dipped in everything🤌🏻

Tried Bear Steaks at The Well and loved it. We had the steak sandwich and pork sandwich with fries and two pops. Both were excellent – the meat was tender, the gravy rich, and the chimichurri added a great punch of flavor. Definitely worth it.

Was super excited to try this place but was left disappointed.
It came with a delicious and very spicy chimichurri sauce.
I was not asked how I would like my steak, unfortunately mine was rare, definitely not ideal for a sandwich.
It was extremely difficult to eat as the meat was barely cooked so chewy, like biting into a worm sandwich.
Staff needs some more training and supervision, easy to see a steak is undercooked when you are slicing it up, every sandwich needs to be perfect.
I’ll give this place another shot in a few months and hoping to have a better experience.

Quality steak sandwich with a satisfying amount of beef done medium. Topped with a spicy chimichurri sauce so it doesn't lack in the taste department. The steak was served on a nice a nice bun which is so important. An improvement would be melted cheese for example, provolone but this is not an option. Lots of seating adjacent the the counter. I recommend this location if you want steak on a bun.

Hands down the best steak sandwhich you’ll ever have. The steak is so flavourful and the addition of the chimchurri is perfection! It’s a great blend of flavours. This sandwhich is worth every penny. 10/10

Absolutely Unreal – A Must-Try at Wellington Market!

I don’t usually write reviews, but the bear steak sandwiches at the Wellington Market in Toronto deserve a standing ovation. From the moment I took my first bite, I knew I was experiencing something next-level. The meat is insanely tender, rich, and flavorful — it practically melts in your mouth. Whatever marinade or seasoning they use? Genius. Perfectly balanced, savory with just the right kick.

The sandwich is loaded, but not messy — every ingredient feels carefully chosen to complement the star of the show: that incredible bear steak. The bread is fresh, warm, and toasted to perfection, giving a satisfying crunch that doesn’t overpower. I also appreciated how the staff took pride in what they were serving — friendly, knowledgeable, and clearly passionate about their craft.

If you’re in Toronto and you’re not trying this, you’re seriously missing out. This is hands-down one of the most unique and delicious sandwiches I’ve ever had. I’d give it 6 stars if I could. Can’t wait to come back!

I had a bear steak sandwich and it was seriously one of the best sandwiches I’ve ever had. The original steak was super juicy, has a little kick of spice in there and really tender. You can tell it’s something special. The beef tallow fries are also a must try! If you’ve never tried bear before, this is a great way to start. It’s hearty, filling, and honestly just really good. I’d definitely have it again!

Love the design of the new location, friendly staff and the same amazing steal sandwiches they are known for at their College St. location. These guys know where they're doing!

Omg. What a find. 2 things on the menu. A steak sandwich and a porc sandwich. Both are beyond delicious. The pork one is on a sesame seed bun with provolone cheese and served with an au jus. The steak one is with jimichurri. They do them so well. A must go to for sure.

The sandwiches are generous in meat and delicious.
The chimichurri sauce makes the sandwich moist and the souvide flank steak melts in your mouth.
