Spectrum Gallery

I recently had a small oil painting framed at Spectrum Gallery. There was a small flaw on one side of the frame that bothered me. I returned the artwork to SG for repair. I picked up my artwork two weeks later having been told the entire frame would need to be replaced. When I looked more closely at the frame in my own home, I noticed that instead of a new frame, the flaw had been sanded down, removing the antique finish from the frame and then turned around so that the flawed area was no longer on the left side of the painting but on the lower right hand side. This framing was a birthday gift from my husband. The framing cost just under $250.00. To say I am disappointed is putting it mildly. I have dealt with this gallery for over 15 years. It has been under new management for some time now. I don't believe they do framing on the premises any longer. I was told my framing job was sent out. I did not see any evidence of framing done in the back of their shop as was the case with the previous owner. The picture is going back yet again to be repaired until I am completely satisfied. Take my comments for what they are worth.
