The Purple Pig Sandwich is the Best combination of flavours & one of my favourite sandwiches to get. Chicken, brie, caramelized onions, bacon YUMMY. Great little spot to grab a casual meal with a friend or two, there's several tables. Friendly & welcoming!

Very nice little cafe. Chill vibes. Friendly staff. Lots of goodies and great brews. Try their fritters. They are all so good and are made fresh to order. It's all about the apple fritter for us. Clean facility. Clean washrooms. Bicycle racks nearby. Buses and trams stop nearby. No credit card surcharge. Free WiFi.

My dad and I have been going to Purple Penguin for over 4 years now and we absolutely love it. The owner, Lauren, is warm and friendly and the food is always fresh and yummy. I 100% recommend the banana chocolate chip muffin. They’re an amazing size and are always warm. Do yourself a favour and come here it’s incredible. You won’t regret it!

I found a neighborhood gem! I was getting a tire change and had a couple of hours to enjoy. It's a great place with friendly people and customers. The owner warmly greeted several regulars. I am sitting here watching people get their weekends started while enjoying a coffee and a beautiful Montreal bagel BLT sandwich. I'll definitely be back to sit, have a coffee and read. Love it!

Hidden gem. Found this place be chance a couple of years ago and try to get there when I visit the city.

Food is very good, consistently. The apple fritters are prepared fresh and are delicious. The coffees are all very good. Service is very good.

It's impossible not to be charmed by this iconic Leslieville start-your-day café! Owner Lauren and her staff make delicious treats...apple fritters...to go along with a range of coffee options and teas. We chose a smoked salmon and cream cheese toasted bagel along with two flat whites...the perfect breakfast. The café's won a devoted following over the years, with customers bringing back purple penguin mementoes for Lauren from their travels. Purple Penguin offers a Leslieville-style welcome to all who drop by!

This is such an awesome neighborhood Cafe that has fantastic coffee and some great eats. I started with a delicious banana chocolate chip muffin. Look at the chocolate in this picture!

I enjoyed it so much that I decided to try their breakfast sandwich made with Montreal bagels. Absolutely hit the spot for a weekend breakfast treat.

If you're around the area don't miss out on trying this place. Can't wait to return to try some more treats out.

Highly recommended!

Dropped my. At at the garage nearby and found this nice little corner spot for breakfast - run by two ladies. Had the breakfast bagel with coffee which was about $12 and far superior to McDonalds. Pleasant ambience and convenient at Logan and Queen and a window seat. Very pleasant, thanks.

We tried the cold brew coffee and the apple fritters which were both delicious. The apple fritters are coated lightly with cinnamon and sugar and are great with a coffee. The cold brew was smooth with no bitter qualities. Friendly service and a good variety on the menu for a small cafe. Definitely worth a stop for a meal or quick beverage.

We've order at least half of the menu and are never disappointed! The food is amazing, I recommend starting your morning with a flat white, a breakfast sandwich and an apple fritter or two on the side. Tip: If you arrive around 8am, there are freshly baked muffins still steaming and available. This cafe is good for a wide variety of diets and is definitely family friendly. The owner, June, works most days and is delightful. She and her staff make everyone feel welcome. This local establishment is a gem!
