Dr. Simmons graduated with honors from Pacific University with a Doctor of Optometry degree, with a specialty in children's vision. Dr. Simmons decided to continue her education and completed a masters degree in Education, Vision Function and Learning.At graduation, Dr. Simmons was awarded the Outstanding Graduate Award from the American Optometric Association. After graduation, Dr. Simmons was commissioned in the US Army and served four years as Chief of Optometry in Mannheim, Germany.
