Worst experience in my life with a moving company. Their communication with each other throughout company was non existent. They did not communicate with each other. No one knew what the other was doing. We specifically asked for a time and date due to time sensitive moving parameters. We were assured it would be no problem. First, movers were to arrive at 9am on day of move. This was set up in advance. Then the day before the move received a call a 5:49pm it would be 9-11am. The next call was 10:14am day of move from their home office it wouldn't be until next day. I said this was wrong. She put me on hold, came back and stated I was right I was on their schedule for from 2-4 pm. I flipped out. This completely destroyed our time sensitive window to move our 88 yr old aunt to her new home. Needless to say, they would not refund our deposit, the lady on phone from Alma instead of helping raised her voice and informed me that they have a two day window to do move. She was rude, loud and obnoxious. Did not want to hear anything I had to say. I wouldnt let these people move a Porta John for me.

Terrible experience - dishonest sales tactics, hidden fees, and fake-looking reviews

I strongly advise anyone considering this moving company to look elsewhere. Our experience was full of lies, hidden fees, and unprofessional behavior from start to finish.

1. Dishonest sales tactics.
The original salesman lied about how much space we were getting just to make us go over on moving day. Later, another salesman claimed he was giving us a “deal” on extra space - but he actually tried to charge $20 per cubic foot when our contract clearly listed $5 per cubic foot.

2. Hidden and misleading stair fees.
We paid in advance for one flight of stairs, but when the movers arrived they demanded payment for five flights because they consider one flight to equal only seven steps. We had 40 steps total — something that should have been clarified from the beginning.

3. Rude and unprofessional customer service.
The customer service representative we dealt with was extremely rude and even yelled at us over the phone multiple times when we tried to ask simple questions or clarify charges.

4. Shady payment practices.
You can pay the deposit by credit card, but once the movers arrive, they only accept cash, Zelle, or money order - and they do not tell you this ahead of time. This feels deliberately deceptive.

5. Damaged items and poor handling.
Several of our boxes were damaged upon arrival, showing a lack of care during the move.

6. More hidden fees.
They also charge extra if your home is more than 50 feet from the truck, another charge that was never verbally disclosed before moving day.

7. Suspicious online reviews.
After our experience, I looked closer at their Google reviews and noticed that a majority appear suspiciously fake - most reviewers have no profile photo and have only ever posted one review, all giving five stars. This makes it hard to trust the company’s online reputation.

Overall, this company operates with dishonest pricing, hidden fees, unprofessional behavior, and potentially fake reviews. I would never use them again or recommend them to anyone.

I would love to leave a women-led company a great review but I cannot in good conscience tell anyone to work with them. Through Alma, I have encountered the absolute worst customer experience conceivably possible. My move was scheduled over a month out and rescheduled on the same day as the agreed upon pickup. Upon complaining and requesting compensation for the delay and financial consequences that ensued, I was verbally accosted and shut down. We have not received a call back after hours of trying to work through this dilemma with them to no avail.
Working with Alma is a liability.

They communicated at every step along the way: showing me how much space was remaining which is crucial since the move is priced according to cubic feet. All in all, I expect the delivery will go without a hitch and I would not hesitate to use their company for future moves. Highly recommend them!

I've never been pleased with any of the other companies I've hired before. The moving companies not only charged very high prices, but they also didn't do the whole job. I'm glad I found Alma Moving Inc. because the service was fantastic and reasonably priced.

I would give zero stars if possible, this is the worst moving company we’ve ever dealt with. They brought our boxes and furniture in two separate loads and we’re still missing 6 boxes but they want receipts of everything we owned that was left that we did not receive. Does anybody keep receipts of everything they’ve ever owned in their home?? Absolutely not. They didn’t take inventory of everything. They wrapped the furniture but there’s scratches and dents in broken furniture, we’ve come across missing screws and pieces to furniture as well. Not to mention, the boxes were completely smashed and we’ve had broken dishes in multiple boxes. There’s been no care, professionalism, or thought towards us as customers. We had a box FULL of pictures packed in a box; when we got it, the box was practically empty. I would HIGHLY recommend not investing in this company.
