Ellen Bergendahl graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Pharmacy in 2015 and has been with SSM Health Dean Medical Group since 2017 in various roles. She currently serves as a board-certified Ambulatory Care Pharmacist at the Baraboo primary care clinic located at 1700 Tuttle Street. Ellen serves in a very unique role where she does not dispense or prepare medications at all. Instead, she will meet you in clinic - in the same exam rooms you meet your doctors in - to help you learn about and take the correct medications that have been individualized for you. Ellen is part of the healthcare team at the clinic, not a separate entity. She specializes in chronic disease management, including diabetes, hypertension, hyperlipidemia, heart failure, asthma/COPD, and tobacco cessation. Her work also focuses on polypharmacy, deprescribing, and helping patients navigate cost barriers to care. Ellen is actively involved in informal precepting of pharmacy students, residents, and medical residents. She is a member of the Pharmacy Society of Wisconsin (PSW) and the American College of Clinical Pharmacy (ACCP). Outside of work, Ellen enjoys cooking, exploring new foods, and traveling. She is married and has two boys. She is fluent in English.
