Yonatan Weiss, M.D., is a board-certified radiation oncologist at Miami Cancer Institute. Dr. Weiss specializes in treating gynecologic and genitourinary cancers with expertise including advanced technologies such as Gamma Knife radiosurgery and interstitial brachytherapy. He specializes in treating prostate cancer with brachytherapy, a form of internal radiation therapy that is particularly effective for high-risk and recurrent disease, including use as boost, focal and salvage therapy. Prior to joining Miami Cancer Institute in 2022, he was a clinical instructor in the radiation oncology department at the University of California Los Angeles. Dr. Weiss also served as chief resident at the Princess Margaret and Odette Cancer Centres, the premier cancer programs in Canada. Before beginning medical training, he worked in cancer research investigating DNA repair in organisms that were resistant to radiation. His research has been presented at national and international scientific conferences.
