The musician and sound/lights was awesome! However, this was packed in with people(standing only).
It was a VERY long walk to the car. Even the ADA spots were so far.
When we asked if there was a more accessible and shorter way to exit that my family member could use, they said no and did NOT have wheelchairs to use.
Is this even up to fire/emergency safety code ? There was a lot of fencing with one way in. Seems like a stampede would happen. There is no clear signage of where to exit in emergency. In general, it was chaos getting in and figuring out where to go. No signage and not enough staff directing.
Very limited porta potty’s and ver far from the stage!

I read lots of reviews about the venue and Turf Club. All were true except the Turf Club reviews. We were there for King Gizard and got there about 45 minutes after the venue opened. Yes, it's a small hike to the venue which isn't bad coming in, but the cattle like formation to funnel you out isn't great. I hope there is never an emergency.
The Turf Club does indeed provide you with free bottles water upon request without issue. The bathrooms are clean and no long lines. There are a few cornhole boards a huge tent with comfy furniture to escape sun or weather that you can view the stage. The raised platform has about 8 ADA chairs not for anyone else's use. The rest of the 2 tier platform is ready to help you get the best seat in the house. You can see the whole pit and the sounds was phenomenal. There are ramps and ADA bathrooms in the Turf Club. It are the only portapotty and the rest are trucks with full bathrooms. The bar never had a wait and being that it was raining, we were glad to be out of the grass. It's not muddy, just very grassy. The noise from airplanes were rarely audible, but if this was a Joan Baez show, it would be an issue. I think Turf Club was worth every penny, but if you wanted to be in the thick of things, then no, stick to GA.

If you're looking for a review of The Stage at Suffolk Downs, here it is. We saw the Avett Brothers in May 2024.
Plus: Venue is easy to get to. Parking is plentiful (pay ahead of time!). Sound system is great except in the Turf Club area.
Minuses: this is a big, open field so your comfort and enjoyment depend on the weather. Expect a long walk from parking to the stage.
Be aware that paying extra for Turf Club tickets (which we did) is a mixed bag. We were promised "a dedicated entry lane"(check), "exclusive food and beverage options (consisting of a bar that sold $15 cans of beer and $6 bottles of water, and a single food vendor of grilled sausages), "private upscale bathrooms" (a trailer with toilet stalls and sinks...but it wasn't handicapped accessible), "shaded VIP lounge with seating" (check, but all of the seating was taken by early birds, and the music was barely audible in the tent), "complimentary bottled water" (never saw it), and most laughably "other premium amenities" which consisted of a few cardboard bowls of roasted peanuts (devoured by early attendees and never refilled) and a couple of warehouse club-sized tubs of Ring Pops (lollipops on plastic rings, which when consumed look like pacifiers). Turf Club was a big oversell by the venue.
There was also an elevated viewing stand that held a few dozen people and maybe a dozen folding chairs, but wasn't covered.
Our concert was on a cool, rainy night. The tent was fine and much appreciated until we wanted to actually see and hear the musicians. At that point we moved outside and stood in the rain. The music wasn't piped into the tent, and some folks apparently paid for tickets to stand under the tent drinking and talking.
Overall we were happy with the musicians but very mixed about spending extra $$ for Turf Club. I came home with a pocketful of Ring Pops, maybe trying to get something for the price of the tickets.

I grew up here parts of my life time with my Grandpa being a horse trainer and hanging with the Jockeys.. I cried today when I drove by the track and noticed half is gone. I really hope you guys don't go out of business completely. This place is very nostalgic to me.
In town from Florida, Pegasus Day. Good crowd, old and beat down but very clean considering everything. Only go if you are old school Boston and want to see it one more time. I have Many wonderful memories at Suffolk Downs and Revere!
The track is closed down but what a place this is for historical value and old-time horse racing it's a great place. It's closed
Shame it stopped live racing after 80+ years. Property is in shambles but still hosting simulcast betting until they figure out what to do with the property.
First time going there. Enjoyed taking my own tour of the place and will be going to the races at the end of June.
Love this old building. The history is so long ago, you can't help but be in the zone. Floors are uneven, so just don't sprint to the mutual box. But fun and lively.
It's your usual run down kind of racetrack, but then again, the decline of these is happening most everywhere. Surprising that they haven't yet turned this into a big casino. The place is marginally clean, but you go for the racing.
Went to Suffolk Downs today. When you walk into the place be warned! The floors have dips and bumps from years of use and are an extreme fall hazard. Ordered a diet coke from the bar in the club house. Bartender scooped the ice out of the ice chest with her hand and put it into my cup . HELLO health code violation. There were food trucks serving assorted fare. We got burgers from the grill truck. They use an IPAD to process orders and yet got what we ordered wrong thus overcharging us $3 on each burger. I can see why this place is closing. It is open once more on October 31 but don't waste your time. I get that the main reason to go there is to bet the horses. I did bet them and won 6 out of 8 races but the place is a pig stye.
