Dr. Archana Rao Paine earned her medical degree in 2002 from Louisiana State University School of Medicine in New Orleans, where she also completed her residency in obstetrics and gynecology in 2006. She is board-certified in obstetrics and gynecology by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Following Hurricane Katrina, Dr. Paine chose to remain in her hometown of New Orleans, committed to caring for her community and helping rebuild the city. She was in private practice in the New Orleans area for 10 years before joining Ochsner Women’s Services in 2016. She currently sees patients Uptown New Orleans at Ochsner Baptist and in Metairie, Louisiana, at Ochsner Medical Complex - Clearview. Dr. Paine specializes in advanced gynecologic surgery, with a particular focus on the treatment of uterine fibroids. She has over 20 years of experience in minimally invasive surgery with the da Vinci Robotic system, performing both robotic hysterectomies and robotic myomectomies for patients wishing to preserve their uterus. These minimally invasive approaches allow for outpatient surgery and shorter recovery times, even for complex conditions. She also has expertise in advanced hysteroscopic and laparoscopic procedures, as well as radiofrequency ablation for fibroid treatment. When she is not caring for her patients, Dr. Paine enjoys spending time with her husband and two daughters, as well as traveling, painting, and enjoying all things New Orleans has to offer.
