I HAVE BEEN USING AJB HOME DESIGNS FOR A NUMBER OF YEARS AND HAVE ALWAYS BEEN HAPPY WITH THE SREVICE. THE ONLY PROBLEM I HAVE EVER HAD IS THAT AL PUT THE WASHER AND DRYER ASSBACKWARDS ON THE DRAWINGS. FOR THAT WE CAUGHT THE WRATH OF THE LADY OF THE HOUSE AND AN ENGINEER DID NOT HAVE TO BE CONSULTED.
ANY BUILDER WOULD KNOW THAT WHEN A STRUCTURE IS CHANGING OR IS BEYOUND THE SCOPE OF THE B.C. BUILDING CODE THAT THE INSPECTORS WORK WITH THEN AN ENGINEER IS REQUIRED. WITH THAT THE OWNER OF THE PROJECT SHOULD BE HAPPY THAT THEY ARE REQUIRED IN ORDER TO PROTECT THEMSELVES FROM FUTURE PROBLEMS.

I’m the owner of AJB Home Design. Over the 15 years I have been doing blueprints for additions and new homes, structural engineering is usually required. I inform the client of this and other facts, in writing, right from the very first meeting we have. I find it very suspect and cowardly that someone can put forward any negative slur they want, to hurt someone’s business, without stating their name or being a member of this web site.
If they had a legitimate complaint then why not come to me with it so I could resolve it.
No, this sounds more like a disgruntled X employee or someone, unrelated to work, that has an issue with me that they are too small minded to come to me with. If anyone, reading this, has any questions, please feel free to call me, 250-595-0858 (office)

I have used AJB for the last five years or more and yes we have had to use engineers as well but only because the building inspectors must protect themselves. Also a designer is just that, a designer if you want to change structures that are not noted in the B.C. BUILDING CODE then you must use an engineer.
As far as AJB is concerned I have been dealt with in a professional manor and I am happy to deal with him anytime.

This company, when asked and paid to do working drawings for an addition, were so poor they would not pass inspection by municipal inspectors. A structural engineer had to be further used.
