Super cute spot with great brunch options. Food was flavourful, different from other brunch places around and made fresh. Great addition to the neighborhood!

So great! It’s a fairly new place, the signage outside is very easy to miss. Glad we went! Jerry was serving us who is friendly and super knowledgeable about Toronto food scene. Excellent breakfast sandos. Nice ambiance. Want to go again go check out dinner menu.

A very lovely place to have breakfast. The Avocado Rost and Pork Belly Sando were fantastic, as was the French toast. Very friendly service! We are happy to have discovered this café on our trip through Canada.

We had such a great brunch here! The food was absolutely delicious, with lots of Hong Kong influences that made it special. The HK-style French Toast was outstanding.

The owner is super friendly – we even had a nice chat about music festivals. The whole place feels very welcoming and beautifully decorated.

Since we stayed right next door at Sonder Apartments, it was the perfect start into the day. Highly recommended!

Cute cafe/brunch place!

Nice interior with lots of plants.

I guess this is a HK inspired cafe. They have a bunch of HK milk tea, buns, etc. Friendly staff.

The sandos were good. The porkbelly was kinda dry.

The place can get smoky and hurt my eyes.

PORK SANDO
- juicy
- strong pork flavour, so if youre not a huge fan of pork, it's not recommended. But otherwise it's amazing!

AVOCADO SANDO
- CRUNCHY!
- great take on a classic brunch sandwich
- crispy fried cheese puts an amazing texture on each bite
- hash browns in the sandwich

RADISH CAKES
- if you've never had this, it's not sweet like you might know other cakes to be. It's a warm savoury dish, garnished with bean sprouts
- a little too liquidy on the inside
- texture didn't fit too well with me but my only other reference is homemade and from congee queen.

EGG SANDO
- not too eggy in flavour, no overpowering boiled egg smell or flavour
- creamy and flavourful

HK MILK TEA SLUSHY
- it's sweet so if you're not a sweet tooth, I wouldn't recommend
- perfect during the heatwave
- milk foam on top, tastes like ice cream!
- they offer free refills but be sure to ask beforehand as it's not listed on the menu

HK FRENCH TOAST
- also not too sweet, come with a side of maple syrup if you want it sweeter
- custard filling and butter on top
- I'm not a huge fan of butter so I wasn't too in love with it
- super crispy edges

ATMOSPHERE AND SERVICE
- super friendly and attentive staff
- asked if refills were wanted as soon as they noticed your drink was running low
- music in space is FUN, lots of varieties of music, Chinese, Spanish, English
- lighting is nice during the day, lots of natural sunlight. Other brunch places are too dark sometimes

Second visit to this "pop-up". Quality is consistent, and it's always nice to have a place that serves brunch that is not the usual fare. The sorrowful rice is a Chinese BBQ pork paired with rice, veggies, and a fried egg, a la the Stephen Chow film, but is actually good and not gimmicky. The sandwich is also delicious with quality ingredients. A bit on the pricey side but worth it.

I loved this special Chicken Parmesan Sando. A lightly toasted brioche bun is slathered with a tangy mayo, and clearly it's trying its best to encompass the giant slab of chicken, smashed thin for tenderness and breaded with a fragrant breadcrumb crust that both provides a satisfying crisp/crunch on the edges while soaking up the tomato sauce and cheese. The umami bomb from the tomato sauce and the mix of mozzarella and parmesan plays the classic melody of flavours in your mouth, heightened with a refreshing bite of basil sprinkled on top. Be ready to get messy, but its worth it.

It's a nice brunch spot but it wasn't a very smooth experience from a service perspective. The food was very good, but not great, and because it's a pop up I worry that they won't have enough time to really refine things to make this place as good as it could be.

We came here after seeing their pop up menu. We were told that we were one of the first walk in customers.

I ordered the pork belly sandwich, it was really flavourful and tasty. It was a little messy to eat. The portion is kind of small for the price you pay for one sandwich. I wish it came with a little side to make it more worth it.

The cafe itself was really cozy and cute. It gave a really warm welcoming. The server was really nice. The service itself was a little slow. I also got the red bean ice, totally different than what I imagine.

This morning marked our fourth visit to Alma and once again, it was an outstanding experience. We had the pork belly sandwich, the scrambled special, and the French toast. Each dish was exceptional, maintaining the high standards we've come to expect from this place.

The pork belly sandwich was rich and savory, with perfectly cooked pork belly adding a delightful crunch. The scrambled special was deliciously creamy and well-seasoned, a perfect breakfast choice. The French toast was light, fluffy, and beautifully presented, making for a sweet end to our meal.

Abby, our waitress, was wonderful as always. Her friendly demeanor and attentive service truly enhance the dining experience. We also had the pleasure of meeting the chef's husband, who, like the rest of the staff, was incredibly warm and welcoming. The service here is consistently amazing, adding to the overall enjoyment of each visit.

We'll definitely be returning to Alma, as it continues to be one of our favorite spots for a fantastic meal.

Went this morning, was able to order and sit in on a couple of benches in the restaurant (small amount of seating, meant mostly for those waiting for their orders to be prepared). Shared an avo rosti sandwich, with pork belly added to it and tried one of the special features of the day because it sounded delicious - the scotch egg wrapped in pepperoni-sausage, with cabbage slaw, in a brioche bun! We loved the OG avo rosti, and really glad we added the pork belly to it, rich and delicious, soft bun, a near perfect breakfast sandwich, best I've ever had out! The scotch egg in pepperoni was also great, just look at that cross section! Personally love a bit of freshness in a sandwich, wouldn't have minded more slaw or jelly in the scotch egg sandwich, or some pickled onions in the avo rosti, but that's just personal preference, the sandwiches were great. Also had the HK milk tea which was sooooo good, great milk tea flavour, and a nice glass flask to take home or can also recycle at ALMA+GIL. Will return to the new location at College and Bathurst for sure, can't wait to try the kombucha!
