Heard a lot about this place and finally got the chance to try!
Obviously, we had to go with the butter tarts. I wouldn't say they're the best I've had in the city, but definitely in the top 3. The original was much better than the pecan. The carrot cake was perfectly not too sweet and moist. The brownie wasn't anything special, but still good. The earl grey scone has a nice flavor, but was a bit dry.
The girl working the front was robotic. Didn't feel like she cared or wanted to take our order.

Very busy spot for a Saturday, but the staff were cheerful and efficient. Lots of pastry options to choose from, and everything we tried was flavorful. We picked up a bunch of items and definitely spent a pretty penny, but the quality was there. Nothing was so outstanding that I’d drive 40 minutes just for it, but if I’m in the area, I’d happily come back.
Huge fan of Circles & Squares. Service is always wonderful and the pastries are 100/10!! First time visiting this location and I absolutely love it. They've got a couple corn hole games out front, benches and some seating indoors as well. Highly recommend!!
Very cute bakery! I heard about this place from a friend and decided to stop by. I’m not usually a big bread person, but everything looked so tempting that it was hard not to try.
The décor is clean, simple, and very charming. I really liked that they offer a variety of seating options, and the clean washroom was definitely a plus. My only small wish is that they had more free parking spots.
I really enjoyed my flat white, and the everything croissant with herb&garlic cream cheese was absolutely delicious. I’ll definitely be back!

Hidden, but not a gem, IMO. Got the almond croissant and found it crispy and flaky, but too much filling inside that didn't really have a strong flavour (almond jam?). Snickers butter tart tasted exactly that. Couldn't eat more than a quarter. The cheddar scones was my fav. Flavorful and not too dense. Dark roast coffee was very acidic, and matcha latte was very mild.
Atmosphere was nice, toilet was so so clean.

Awesome place! Love the atmosphere, great location, parking is easy, food and drinks are great! I got an Everything Croissant with Salmon, and some coconut drink that i would not get again😅 But they have other interesting options that I want try. Also got a strawberry square that I killed before taking these pics. Looking forward to the next visit
I had been "eyeballing" this shop for some time, since they were proclaimed the "best-of-the-best" for butter tarts. We have a planned trip through Montreal and our friend is a butter tart maniac so I got a dozen assorted.
My partner and I shared a maple pecan one, which was apparently the winning tart for the competition. It did not disappoint. Smooth, buttery and moist. It went down great with a fresh cuppa Joe.
The service was efficient and courteous and plenty of seating inside and out. The part I loved the most, was that if they even had music piping in, one could hardly hear it - so nice for a change.
The North York store is very easy to find parking. I definitely intend to try some of the other goodies at some point.

We picked up a few things from this bakery today after hearing good things about their products.
We picked up four butter tarts, including two pecan, one original, one smores. We also picked up one almond croissant and a Caprese tart.
The tart I warmed up for lunch and it was delicious! I also tried the pecan butter tart, which was super duper delicious 😋...ooeey, gooey, good filling, sweet, and crunchy pecans. Pastry was flaky and pretty much perfect!
Parking is limited as it was busy!
Line moved fairly fast as staff were efficient!
A little loud in there for me personally, with people dining in...the only con for me, and the lack of parking.

Absolutely love this spot! Circles and Squares is a hidden gem for anyone who appreciates quality coffee and fresh-baked goods. The espresso is consistently smooth and well-balanced, and the selection of pastries—especially their croissants and muffins—is always fresh and flavorful.
The staff are friendly, quick, and genuinely care about the experience. The space is cozy yet modern, making it a perfect place to relax or get some work done. You can tell there’s a lot of pride in what they serve, and it shows.
Highly recommend this place for your daily coffee fix or a quick bite—easily one of the best cafés in the area!

This place is unrivalled as far as bakeries go! Everything is fresh and homemade and top notch in every category. The butter tarts are to die for, the pastries off the charts and their warm prepared food are homemade and fresh. They also have croissant sandwiches and coffee options all which are amazing. There is a good amount of indoor and outdoor seatings areas as well. I like that they also rotate options seasonally. This is a place everyone should try if you have a sweet tooth. Definitely pricey, but as expected for top notch baked goods in Toronto. It is worth it.
My all-time favourite. ✨✨Amazing pastries and sandwiches, high quality coffee beans and wide selections, friendly and efficient service, cozy atmosphere and a patio is also available (during summer only, I mean you can go out in winter too but it’s not the same).
They have award-winning pastries available and lots of other savoury options. My favourite is the grilled cheese and butter tart. They can also heat it up for you. When it comes to beverage, they always have something special for the season. Their honeycomb foam is top-notch, usually pairing it with iced americano or iced latte if you like your coffee creamy.

Paid a visit here in the recommendation of a friend. The baked good were delicious! Bought a sourdough loaf for $8. It was very fresh and perfectly crusty on the outside. I also tried the cookie butter blondie which was amazing and the s’more butter tart (pictured). I will definitely be going back.
Fantastic bakery and cafe. We love their sourdough bread, baguettes, delicious butter tarts, scones, and cruffins. Lovely place in warmer weather for a picnic on their patio or the provided picnic blankets. Indoor seating can get loud and crowded. Their coffee and drink selection is also good, and they have lunch and breakfast options, including salads, sandwiches, and breakfast croissants.
This cute little cafe has been just a kilometer from my house all these years and I only found out about it last month.
My friend and I went here on the first day of snow this winter and it was a good decision. We tried a few items on their menu and they didn’t disappoint.
- peppermint hot chocolate (but obvio!)
- cortado
- chai latte muffin
- roasted veggies sandwich (this was a little hard to eat, literally, since the bread was either overtoasted or a day old)
- spinach feta cheese quiche (this was mind blowing!)
The service here was a little disappointing. Despite the cashier repeating our order, they forgot two of our items to serve. And when we pointed it out, they asked us to stand in the long queue all over again. I was holding our table while my friend stood in the queue, but our beverages were cold by the time we got our remaining items… plus there was absolutely no acknowledgment on their behalf that they goofed up…
Ambience is cozy, cute, bright and casual. It’s a good place to sit in the patio area, or by the window indoor, with a book and a coffee/hot chocolate. Going here again soon definitely, but hoping for better service.
