My path to becoming a physician started with my great aunt who developed myelodysplastic syndrome when I was a child and wanting to be in a position to help family members or those suffering from illness in the future. I fell in love with infectious diseases during medical school and residency due the complex nature of many cases we see as well as having treatment options. Developing a personal relationship with my patients is really my main key in obtaining clinical success. Often times, our therapies or things we are treating take quite some time and can be challenging so building a connection with my patients and helping them navigate often times very challenging scenarios has been paramount. I focus primarily in human immunodeficiency virus (HIV), particularly in the use of more contemporary injectable treatment options, and antimicrobial stewardship particularly as it pertains to urinary tract infections and complicated intraabdominal infections. Outside of work, I love to cook, spend time with my dog, and explore the Triangle area.
