Used to be good but now the guys making food use the same gloves to cash out and prepare your fries… poutine was okay with gravy that tastes watered down and missing flavor. Fries could be crispier. The double burger was great and nicely crispy and seared. Must get the double patty with melted cheese and definitely recommend eating it fresh!
A good spot for a late night smash burger and fried chicken sandwich. I don’t recommend their fried pickles. It has some indoor and outdoor seating options.
Lovely restaurant. my takeout order 4453 was a joke. Asked upon arrival (20mins after order if it was ready. nope, still making it. ok. no problem. 10 min later i ask is it ready yet. yes its here. great and i walk away with my cold bag. Now im home and a damn burger is missing. I dont give crap reviews. This one is well deserved. I left a message on their answering machine. I hope my complaint is addressed. If not I call Visa on Monday. I eat out a lot and was looking forward to trying these burgers as 2 of my co-workers love it. I dont. Rudys refunder my order. They have addressed my concern and i am now changing my review to 5 stars.
Rudy Restaurant just blew me away! The smashed burgers were insanely good—crispy edges, juicy center, and packed with flavor. You can tell they use fresh, quality ingredients. The place had a great vibe, and the staff made me feel right at home. Hands down one of the best burger spots I’ve ever been to. Can’t wait to go back!
Highly recommend this spot! I got the Rudy burger, fried pickles and a strawberry shake. All were very tasty. I just wish there was a dipping sauce for the pickles!
Staff were friendly and helpful with making suggestions.

Rudy is getting too expensive. I remember it was a quick & cheap eat late at night after having a night out on college or in the clubbing district back when I was in the undergrad. The quality of the food is still consistent doe - the smash burdger is still top tier in the game, and the shoestring fries are irresistible. But then almost 20 dollars for these two? I'm not so sure.
I got the Valentino and it was pretty good but it was missing something (maybe a sauce) to really elevate it. It wasn’t greasy though, which was nice. Very fresh. There was some sort of white sauce that was given as a fry dip which was actually my favorite part. Sadly it took a very long time to get my order, but the girls were nice. I wasn’t mad about the sandwich, but I don’t think I’ll go back, there are better chicken sandwiches out there. There is a fair amount of seating, but the music inside the place is quite loud. So you might want to get it as takeout.
PICKLE CHIPS 😍😍 must try these crispy fried and tangy taste with a side of valentino dipping sauce! Make sure you eat them right when they are hot
The smash burger was alright, their special was too greasy. The portions were way too small. The fries were great though - like the old, amazing McDonald's fries.
Very simple Burger, not much flavor to the beef patty, its also very very thin. It's cool that its open until 4 am on the weekends. However, I don't think I would be returning as the Burger was underwhelming.
Absolutely phenomenal Burgers. I could have cleared 5 Rudys without a sweat. Their fries are McDonalds clones but I ain't complaining (even taste better). I also had their vanilla milkshakes which hit the sweet treat spot just right 👌
Really tasty burger. I had the Rudy with a 'tattoo' (aka bacon) and it was perfect. Juicy and flavourful, I almost ordered a second (but showed restraint). Highly recommended.
Their burgers are great! Just like the ones from shake shack & Rosie’s (Toronto). But their fries are mid - looks like the frozen store bought ones. I would still prefer rosies if i had the chance, but i would still go back here because of the location & hours. 👍
I’ve already been to Rudy on Duncan St by Queen W. I had the Big Rudy with a coke. Came to $20.34. Looked great and the burger was good. I felt the smash patties were too crispy to the point they were almost burned, but still nice. Decent burger
The visit did not meet my expectations, unlike previous Rudy's experiences. Whoever works at the front desk may be a manager, but she needs some training because she acts very rudely toward customers. I've seen Uber delivery boys enter, and she treats them rudely. She needs to change because other people are noticing, and while the food is good, the business will definitely suffer if the service is like this. Anyhow, I'm not turning around.
The smash burger craze is in full flight in Toronto, and when the mood strikes we’ve found no better place to go than Rudy - specifically their College Street location.
The burgers are consistently, mouth wateringly delicious. Quality beef is seared perfectly to crispy edged, Maillard Reaction scrumptiousness. This is the secret to a great smash burger. The flattening of the meat onto a hot griddle ensures that more meat is in contact with the high heat - creating a browned, charred and toasty flavour. And smashing the meat properly in the first few seconds of contact with the griddle ensures that the juices are locked in, creating that perfect combination of crispy and juicy that makes a good smash burger crave-worthy. And the Rudy smash burger is crave-worthy indeed.
Their burgers are garnished with just the right amount of toppings to complement - but not overwhelm - the perfectly seared meat. We highly recommend that you “tattoo” your burger - as in, add bacon (because bacon makes everything better!). We don’t know where Rudy sources their bacon, but daayyyuuummm it’s fantastic.
Rudy also make a mean chicken burger (The Valentino - as in Rudy Valentino - get it?!? lol), and the fries are scrumptious. We hear that their poutine is off-the-charts good but we can’t vouch for that personally as we’ve not had the poutine - yet! Also from the “We hear it’s great but we haven’t tried it yet” list: pickle chips and milkshakes (we love, love, love that they do only the holy trinity of flavours - chocolate, strawberry and vanilla!). Why haven’t we tried these yet, you may ask? Simple. We’re addicted to the tattooed Big Rudy and straight up fries, and no matter how hard we try to break out of that delicious rut we just haven’t been able to get there. But we’re gonna - someday!
