and completed her Obstetrics and Gynecology residency at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Ann
Arbor. She decided to pursue medicine when she was an AmeriCorps member, working in a
homeless shelter for medically ill adults. Raised in Southern Indiana, Dr. Shelton is Japanese
American, a former Math-Athlete and is fluent in Spanish. She especially enjoys adolescent
medicine and pregnancy related care.
