Craig Kilburg, M.D., is a board certified endovascular and open vascular neurosurgeon. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Iowa and then completed medical school at the University of Michigan. He completed his neurosurgical residency at the University of Utah, during which he also completed an enfolded Endovascular Neurosurgery fellowship. He then went on to complete a second fellowship in Cerebrovascular and Endovascular Neurosurgery at the Baptist Neurological Institute in Jacksonville, Florida. After a year in private practice in Cincinnati, Ohio, he ultimately returned to Utah to join the faculty at the University of Utah.
Dr. Kilburg’s neurosurgical interests primarily reside within vascular neurosurgery, providing care for such pathologies as aneurysms, arteriovenous malformations, arteriovenous fistulas, cavernous malformations, carotid stenosis, intracranial stenosis, ischemic stroke, intracranial hemorrhages, and arterial dissections. He also has an interest in pediatric neurovascular conditions, including aneurysms, arteriovenous malformations, arteriovenous fistulas, and vein of Galen malformations. His training in both endovascular techniques and traditional open vascular surgery allow him to provide a full range of treatments for these conditions. He is also currently involved in numerous research projects and clinical trials focusing on improving and expanding the care of these disorders.
