LuLuu Spa and Salon DC

I went to LuLuu to get a gel mani/pedi. I have not had a gel manicure before, so I am not sure how the process should work, but the whole process felt rushed to me- for instance, the nail tech would move the machine that is used to cure the polish off of my hand and over to the other hand before it beeped. I'm not sure if that made a difference, but my understanding was that gel manicures should last two to three weeks, and this manicure started peeling from my nail beds almost immediately. Within 3 days, I noticed it pulling from my nail bed when I was washing my hair- it would get caught on the strands and pull off. This was surprising to me, but I tried pressing it down and cutting any loose polish off to prolong the manicure. After just a week, I accepted that it would not stay on and it began peeling easily. The peeling damaged my nails (which are normally very healthy and smooth). When I went to the salon to have it removed, they charged me, even though it says free removal is included with the manicure. They say it is only free if you get another gel manicure. I'm not sure why I would pay to damage my nails like this again. Also, I noticed only after I left that some of the polish was still on my nails. I would not recommend LuLuu if you're looking for a basic gel manicure.

Best mani/pedi of my life! The nail technician Happy took such care with my nails. She was utterly focused and took time to get every detail perfect. I’ve never been so delighted with a manicure!

Went in for a full acrylic set on my hands, and left the place feeling bummed. My natural nails were poorly cut and filed, and is too long underneath the acrylic nails. both my middle fingers look crooked. Mike was applying the paste on thick and quite unevenly. I had a woman replace him, and it got a bit better, but still not good. Substance was left underneath my nails. They didn’t do my cuticles. When I asked, they did it very quickly and without any oil or soak. They picked out a gel polish without checking and tried to charge me $80 for the whole two-hour experience (too long) that i couldn’t even relax for. I won’t be coming back.

The only thing I asked was the nail tech not get gel polish on my skin. She proceeded to paint all over the sides of my nails and cuticles and then try to remove it after. A significant amount of polish is still touching my skin even after all that. Gel polish contact can cause an acrylate allergy. On top of that, there was zero hand massaging, just slap some lotion on and we’re done. One of the worst manicures of my life really.

I noticed the salon on my walk and it looked so pretty and inviting. I walked into the salon and was greeted by Mandy with a friendly smile. Everyone here is very welcoming. I asked for a mani pedi and was seen right away (I was a walk-in). Mandy gave me a wonderful pedi and then mani. She helped me when I asked for advice on colors. She is so nice. Nice music not too loud just perfect place all around. I will definitely be back and I will make an appointment!

Angel gave me the best manicure I’ve ever had. I usually keep my nails short and they never quite look polished or feminine—but she completely changed that. She carefully cleaned up my cuticles, shaped everything beautifully, and brought out a softness and elegance I didn’t know my hands could have. Her attention to detail and gentle professionalism made the entire experience feel luxurious. Highly recommend her to anyone looking for quality and care.

The first time I came here for a pedicure, it was one of the better pedicures I’ve ever had… but I just had my second here, maybe 2 months later, and the tech rushed through it. It lasted maybe 20 minutes even though the listing said an hour, I sat down after the person next to me and I was done before her. Honestly was kind of annoyed because she really just seemed like she was trying to hurry and was not doing a good job. Would not recommend just because it so inconsistent. This is disappointing because I was looking forward to it after my first experience.

Giao is the best nail tech in DC. She designed a beautiful cat eye gel-X manicure for my birthday!

I’m disappointed, the pedicure was fine, everyone was nice until the tech butchered my manicure. He cut way too much of my cuticles and I think the gel polish was old and expired because it is so lumpy, every time he tried to “fix” it got worse. I won’t be back.

I’ve done my nails with Giao twice now. All i can say is the professionalism and skill is great. She always knows what you want and always makes sure you’re satisfied with her work. I used to always get acrylic but after getting my nails done with Giao I will never go back. My nails always end up very healthy even after the nails. I will continue to do my nails with her

I love my lady Giao over at LuLuu Spa. She's one of the best nail techs in LuLuu's . Very patient, attentive and her hands are amazing. Check my lady Giao.

So, I'm a returning client who has previously visited Spa Logic and decided to give this new location a try. My nail tech, Giao was great! Different type of pedicure done where she used a tea bag, but she cared for my feet well. Same with the nails, different gel manicure but all done very well.

Where I removed a star was for the customer service. I was racially profiled and that never feels good. The guy at the counter, not Tony, Tony is amazing. But another older man was at the counter with glasses and I watched as his interaction with me changed and he became cold, establishing no eye contact nor telling me when he was ready to check me out. He didn't do that with the costumer before me who was not a woman of color so I based the treatment off of clear observations. I'm big on calling anyone out on their nonsense because I know that the owner, Kathy, has always been a sweetheart. She may however want to train her staff on racial sensitivity because in this climate, racism is disgusting.

Been seeing Mandy at Spa Logic for many years so had to follow her over here to their new location. She's fantastic and the service is always great.

I got a facial at LuLuu Spa, and it was amazing! My skin felt refreshed and glowing. The atmosphere was relaxing, and they’re great for kids too!

This was perhaps the BEST manicure i have ever had! The place is spotless and clean, and very sweet staff. Oh-and fab neck massage as well. Cant wait to go back!!

Luluu Spa and Salon is the best in DC! I’ve been seeing Tina for years and she is always timely and professional. She has a great eye for detail and is always so kind and patient. I would highly recommend her for all your manicure and pedicure needs, especially dip, acrylic, liquid gel and any designs!

This is such a great spot! I got a full set and pedicure and am so happy with outcome of both. I was able to make a last-minute appointment on a Friday (which was great) and was very fortunate to be paired with Tina, who did a fantastic job. I have never had someone give such attention to detail in their service and couldn't be more grateful. Came out feeling absolutely pampered. Everyone on the staff is very friendly. The location itself is clean and modern on the inside. I will definitely be going back!
