Nadel Enterprises Inc

Nadel Enterprises distributes Velbon tripods in Canada but provides no assistance when parts are needed for repair. They refer you to the U.S. distributor (OSN) rather than trying to obtain the parts themselves from the factory in Japan. Why then doesn't OSN distribute Velbon in Canada rather than Nadel? Nadel told me that no parts are available for my tripod because it is a discontinued model. This clearly isn't true as I obtained from the U.S. distributor the part that I needed. In fact, a part from a current model of Velbon tripod fits my discontinued model. When I asked Nadel if they could order that part from the factory in Japan, they told me they don't import that particular model of tripod. Surely Velbon in Japan would be more than willing to send the part to Nadel even if Nadel doesn't normally import that model. That would be good customer service. The bottom line is that Nadel doesn't care about customer service (yes, the owner of a discontinued model is still a customer) and is too lazy to give you the time of day. I would not buy another Velbon tripod if only because the service in Canada by the distributor, Nadel Enterprises, is so bad.
