As early as grade school, I knew a career in medicine was in my future. My interest grew throughout my undergraduate career. I am proud to have served in the United States Army for 25 years. As a retired colonel, I am committed to providing optimal care to our veteran population in the Charlotte region and beyond. I've been honored to not only care for families in and out of our armed forces, but also to delivery military children for nearly 20 years. \n Family medicine allows me to offer a continuity of care to my patients which I believe is so important to driving positive outcomes. As a family medicine program director in medical education for decades, I have had the opportunity to train more than 140 family doctors in various communities worldwide. I am committed to both serving my patients and the medical community as a whole. \n I am married to another physician, now retired, and together we have three sons who all call North Carolina home. I am passionate about finding a balance between work and family life, and am drawn to servant leadership to make my time outside of work productive and beneficial to my family and my community.
