Dr. Missy Helman chose obstetrics and gynecology because she was attracted to both the primary care focus of the specialty, as well as its surgical and procedural nature. Dr. Helman enjoys the sense of family she found at Novant Health more than 20 years ago and never tires of delivering babies. When she's not working, Dr. Helman spends a majority of her time with her husband, who is also a doctor, and their teenage son and daughter. They enjoy spending time together on the soccer field and at wrestling matches. They also love to cook, travel and hike together.
