As I had little experience with interior design, working with Mel and her team was a delight. Our personal preferences were always front and center in the choices she presented to us. Questions were always welcome and changes to the design were easy to update. She works to make your life, during a time when chaos reigns throughout the home, as smooth and stressless as possible. Choosing Mel and her team becomes a choice for professional expertise, intuitive connection, and personal service. Is there something else you actually need when making a change to a room or a whole house that will surround you for years to come? I didn't think so. Check into her before you sign elsewhere. Don't settle for the ordinary; not in your home and certainly not in your designer. We didn't. And we're very satisfied.

With Mel’s help I was able to save thousands of
dollars and still have a gorgeous home. I inherited much needed furniture for my new larger home after down sizing a few years ago. Problem was the furniture was not my style. After a day of furniture shopping I concluded my style just changed LOL. There were a couple of pieces that were so “interesting” I was certain I would rather leave the area empty. Anyway I heard about Mel, owner of Design On A Dime. Met with her once for less than an hour. Her excitement about all my “junk” honestly made me question her eye sight. Her confidence made me listen and I’m glad I did. We discussed likes & dislikes. She apparently was planning the whole time because the next time I saw her was my DISASTER area AKA house. I left for about four hours and returned to the most beautiful home. It brought me to tears. All of this mismatched hideous junk was peaceful, cohesive warm, beautiful and inviting. It felt like home. I honestly was just hoping for something I could “live with”. Instead I got a beautiful home I absolutely love!! I felt born again. Got me thinking what a great gift if everyone could have that same feeling. Mel is amazing and very affordable.
Mother’s Day is around the corner. Surprise your mom, wife, daughter with a heart felt emotional experience of rethinking the house. Kind of a little painless face lift for the house. If you’re on a tight budget maybe just the living room or bedroom. Baby coming, tweak the nursery for the 2nd child so it feels special & new like the first born got! Instead of the same old boring gift try redoing teens room, newlyweds house. I’m guessing Mel could even do as a surprise. Like I said she met with me once! The next time she came in with a crew and did my 2,000 sq ft home in 4 hrs. I did not move or change one thing. I selected blinds for kitchen windows once the house was done.
After installed I wasn’t thrilled. She immediately rectified and I’m thrilled with the replacement. She of course does amazing high end designs too.
They are many who do and are good. It is nice to have the high end designer look on just about any budget.

This was my first experience working with a designer, and I couldn’t be happier with the end result! Mel and Ali from Design on a Dime transformed my living room from an uninteresting builder-grade space into a warm and inviting space that is custom-made incorporating my design style. The built-in entertainment center is beautifully crafted, offering plenty of storage, shelving for décor, and the perfect spot for my TV.

They handled all the appointments with subcontractors and coordinated the entire process seamlessly while keeping me informed every step of the way. Their team took care of everything—from cabinetry and paint to electrical work—so I didn’t have to worry about a thing. They were also incredibly open to my ideas, incorporating my personal choices for light fixtures, and their attention to detail truly shows.

In addition to the living room, they gave my powder room a fresh new personality with a stunning mirror, statement wallpaper, and a stylish light fixture. Plus, the upgraded, dimmable ceiling lights throughout my home have made such a difference in creating a cozy stylish atmosphere.

I’m so thrilled with the results that I plan to work with them again to tackle storage solutions in my laundry room. If you’re looking for thoughtful design, expert craftsmanship, and a team that truly listens, I highly recommend Design on a Dime!

Mel and her team were truly amazing! I had an Airbnb that Mel designed in a French Country theme. It turned out so beautiful. She designed, shopped, and installed everything. All for a low price! I just love Mel. I have sooo much anxiety when it comes to doing a renovation and redesign (I joke that she is also part therapist LOL!). Mel is incredibly flexible in learning and adapting to my style and delivering a design that is breathtaking. She is awesome at working with the contractors (even the bad ones). She has an eye for details and caught things the contractor was trying to sneak by me (so invaluable!). Every time someone fawns over my new bathrooms, I always say "you can tell I didn't do this because of how nice it turned out". Mel is great. We are so pleased with the work Design on a Dime did on our first floor home makeover! They don’t just focus on aesthetic but also FUNCTION and adding value to the home. We handed them the reins, and it was the easiest, least stressful home improvement we’ve ever done (not to mention the most successful!). Since the makeover, my family spends most of our time in rooms that were previously unused. We’re also more comfortable and confident hosting friends in our new and improved space. We love it!

I would highly recommend Design on a Dime. They did a great job on our kitchen and fireplace remodel. I challenged Mel on design issues because I thought I was an expert after watching all kinds of design Instagrams. Mel and her team just finished helping us design and put together our bedroom and all I can say is wow! First of all, Mel is patient. Patient yet firm, which was what my husband and I needed. We needed her confidence and encouragement to try new things but also her patience as we swung back and forth on things. Putting our room together probably took longer than she wanted (did I mention she is patient?) But it was worth it. Even my mother in law was in awe when she walked into our bedroom! And now it is my peaceful, serene retreat where I go when I want to relax and feel calm. They really did such an incredible job! Thank you!
