Hiring Vaughn to be our wedding photographer was the easiest and best decision we made in our whole planning process. From our first meeting with him, his professionalism and passion for his work was apparent. He was so much more than just a photographer in the time leading up to our wedding. Vaughn helped us plan our schedule for the wedding day, with sample itineraries and excellent tips. He even sent us a helpful list of recommended local vendors he’d gathered from his many years of wedding experience in the area. Vaughn has shot many weddings at our venue (Trillium Resort & Spa in Port Sydney), so he was able to offer lots of advice, such as where to take our getting ready photos for the best lighting.

On our wedding day, Vaughn was extremely organized and prepared. He was a much-needed source of calm, making sure we were on track and where we needed to be, on an otherwise hectic day. We had a great time sneaking out from dinner to do a sunset photoshoot, which led to some beautiful shots. During our reception we were hardly aware he was there, but he somehow captured spectacular pictures of speeches and first dances without the cameras being a distraction.

To top it all off, Vaughn had our photos back to us less than a week after our wedding - truly the best surprise to receive on our honeymoon! Thanks again for everything Vaughn!

Vaughn was our wedding photographer and he was an absolute pleasure to work with. He was a calm, cool personality to hang out with during our wedding day, he paid attention to what was important to us, and had a good sense of humor along the way. We received sneak peak photos quickly and received our entire gallery much quicker than what I expected. He was professional and communication throughout was seamless. He also helped us develop a timeline and stuck to it closely all day. We particularly loved his black and white photos and some of the fun artistic ones he did.

It’s impossible to overstate how incredible Vaughn is! When I needed a photographer for my proposal, Vaughn went above and beyond to perfectly capture the moment. He worked with me to plan everything out in advance, spending over an hour going through google satellite images and pictures to scope out where he could hide and was extremely flexible when I had to change the date last minute. Throughout the process you could just tell that he truly cared. Vaughn was so friendly and professional which allowed me to focus fully on being in the moment. It’s unsurprising that Vaughn has only perfect reviews and I couldn’t recommend him enough. Thanks for everything, Vaughn!

Vaughn is undeniably AMAZING at what he does! He is fun, loving, hardworking and a complete JOY to spend the day with! Everything we wanted for our wedding day was captured and then some, even after seeing our Engagement photos and being floored with joy we anticipated our wedding photos even more! Our engagement session was enjoyed by thousands of bugs in a forested area during an exceptionally hot day - Vaughn was a trooper and kept us sane, and through the chaos produced stunning and creative photos.

Our wedding day weather was also great one minute, pouring rain the next, then sunshine, then cold winds - again, Vaughn came through with exceptional photos and seizing whatever backdrop mother nature threw at us in addition to keeping everyone on pace and in good spirits.

My (now) husband is not a fan of being photographed, but Vaughn instantly put him at ease and made the sessions enjoyable. Photography was a top priority for our wedding, and we couldn't have asked for a better photographer.

When we decided to have a destination wedding, I started doing my research and one of the first things I came across was Vaughn Barry Photography! After looking at his website I was sold, and it is by far the best decision we made! Working with Vaughn was nothing short of amazing. From the beginning he was very easy to communicate with and was eager to help in any way he could by sharing his knowledge of the resort we had picked! Even though we live in different parts of the Country we instantly felt comfortable in choosing him after video chats to get to know one another and make plans for the big day!
Myself and Kyle can be very uncomfortable in front of a camera and this was our first time doing any sort of photoshoot, but Vaughn made things so much easier and helped us relax and enjoy the whole experience. He gave us a quick lesson in posing and provided guidance throughout the whole day to make sure we got amazing photos. We loved how he would show us his camera after certain shots, helping us relax a little to know they were in fact turning out pretty awesome and we were not screwing the whole thing up!
By the end of the day Vaughn had fit in great with our whole group, making some instant friends with his choice of Toronto Maple Leafs hat! He even went that extra step in learning some of our Newfoundland phrases to throw into the conversation wherever he could and genuinely wanted to get to know us and our group! To us this was a great quality to have in the person who was spending one of our most important days with us. Everyone still raves about how amazing he was to work with and how absolutely beautiful the pictures are.
The following day Vaughn was back with us ready to get messy for a trash the dress photoshoot. Highly recommend doing this! We got our whole wedding party in on the first few shots and it was so much fun. We were so much more relaxed by this point and the pictures turned out amazing. You know you have a great photographer when he is lying in the waves with his camera and heading into the ocean with everyone to get those action shots!
Pictures were very important to me for our wedding day as this was what we would have to look back on when it was all over. Vaughn had our full photo gallery back to us in under two weeks and they are everything I could have hoped for and more! You will not be disappointed in choosing Vaughn to capture your big day!!
