I’m giving this place 3-4 stars as it may work for other dogs and space is beautiful.
I was staying in a hotel downtown as my apartment was having work done. I was absolutely thrilled and almost cried with happiness when I found Happy Tails.
I brought my 8 pound dachshund in for a trial and as soon as I walked in, I just had a terrible feeling. Big dogs and small dogs are not separated, and there are some very large dogs there. I met with the trainer, who does the interviews, And to say he’s an alpha is the understatement. My dog was screaming when I left and they assured me it would be fine. I was really in a jam as I had a doctors appointment and could not leave her in the hotel alone.
When I came to pick her up a few hours later, I heard screaming and thought to myself that sounds like her, but can’t be her. Well it was. Apparently she screamed and cried the entire time.
When I picked her up, the trainer came out and said this has been going on all day. Your dog needs help. You need to get her some training.
Is she perfect, no. She goes to a fabulous playground on the UES and drags me there. She goes to another playgroup and boards in our snowbird location. And guess what, she’s had training and we have come a long way.
So I hate to be that person, but I don’t think the problem is my dog. I think this is not a good fit for a small dog.
Again 3-4 stars as this is a great space, zero stars for everything else.

We had a great experience with Happy Tails! They welcomed our puppy, Sandy, with open arms and lots of care in terms of which dogs she was paired with! She came home exhausted and happy. Excited to bring her back more.

Also they are so responsive over email which is incredibly helpful!

Happy Tails is so great with our dog, a 5-year old golden retriever, and she gets so excited every time we approach the doors. The staff is welcoming and sweet, and you can tell their attentiveness to the dogs and customers. The facility is very clean and nice with plenty of space for the dogs. Thank you for serving Tribeca dogs so well!

I’ve been bringing my dog Lucky to Happy Tails and I couldn’t be happier with the care he receives. The staff is incredibly attentive, gentle, and truly treats him like family. Lucky always comes home looking great, smelling fresh, and most importantly- happy and relaxed.

They take the time to understand his needs, and I can see how much love and patience they put into every visit. It’s hard to find a place you can fully trust with your pet, but Happy Tails has earned that trust from day one.

Highly recommend to anyone who wants the best care for their fur baby. Lucky and I are definitely loyal customers! 🐶💛

HappyTails NYC has been an amazing find for me and my Jack Russel Shelby! She’s still intact and learning how to be around other dogs, and the staff here has been so patient and supportive with her socialization.
The facility itself is spotless and smells amazing — like a hotel, not a typical dog daycare. It’s clear they take hygiene seriously, and that gives me peace of mind every time I drop Shelby off. They even have a pet store on-site and a convenient storage area for each pup’s food and personal items.
One of the highlights for me was getting Shelby’s teeth cleaned here with their Clarisonic dental service — her teeth were sparkling white again! It’s so great to have services like that available in the same place she plays and learns.
I’m so grateful for the care and attention the HappyTails team gives Shelby. She’s always excited to go in, and that tells me everything I need to know. Highly recommend!

I had never left my dog anywhere before, so I was really nervous about trying daycare for the first time. But from the moment we walked in, the team made both of us feel completely at ease. They were incredibly kind and professional. It gave me so much peace of mind knowing he was in such capable, caring hands. Throughout the day, I got updates and could see just how much fun he was having. He played, made new doggy friends, and was clearly so comfortable. By the time I picked him up, he was happy, relaxed, and totally worn out from all the excitement! We can’t wait to come back! Thank you for giving us such a positive first experience. We’re so glad we found you!

I took my dog chaser for a grooming. I was skeptical to leave the groomer I have been using forever but I must say what an AMAZING job. Elvira was able to put up with my dogs separation anxiety with absolutely amazing results. I will definetly be back for grooming and to try to daycare too
