★★★★★ – A Hidden Gem of Nostalgia and Flavor
The staff here felt like family—so warm, welcoming, and genuinely kind. The place has a cozy, classic vibe, complete with an old-school arcade machine (yes, even Pac-Man!). It brought back so many happy memories. I was instantly filled with nostalgia the moment I walked in.
Now let me tell you about the pizza. I came in expecting your standard greasy, foldable New York slice—but oh no. What I got instead was a gourmet surprise: crispy, crunchy crust, the perfect amount of sauce, just the right cheese ratio—it was absolutely fantastic. Every bite was a treat.
This place is truly a local treasure. Great people, amazing food, and a heartwarming atmosphere. I highly recommend it and can’t wait to go back again. Thank you for such a wonderful experience!

NEVER going there again. Went for the first time ever and had a family emergency. Told them I didn’t want my pizza because I needed to go and she made a big scene infront of other customers and only gave me 20 of my 27$ . Super rude . Not happy.
Me and my girlfriend came in for our first time to try, the lady was laying down in the booth and when we came up to order we felt rushed. She said we only have 6 slices of cheese left with little attitude. We sat at the table and waited and I asked the lady get more napkins and she grabbed the container from my hand and got another one and pushed it into my hand like what the heck. Pizza slices could be better and cooked fresher and place was not clean and food all under the tables and especially where we’re sitting and the table tops dirty as well.
I had a single slice of pizza. It was ok. I didn't like that my pepperoni was not baked with the pizza. It was just places on top, so when I picked it up to bite, all the pepperoni fell off.
It's like walking into a vintage pizzaria Brings back great memories! The food is great! Family who owns/runs the place are great to talk to, get your food out hot and actually ask "how was everything " and care about your answer.
Highly recommend both the pizza and calzone!

The lady behind the counter was great friendly and helpful. We had veal cutlet sandwiches. The bread was fresh and delicious but we were not at all happy with the veal, it was a slab of compressed veal with pizza sauce on it.
I've lived here in Culpeper for more than 12 years, and am ashamed to admit I went to Pete's for the first time tonight. Pete and his wife were extremely friendly, talked with us, and we're very kind to our son. Two other customers came in while we were waiting for our order and they both seemed to be patrons of the place, because they both had a lengthy friendly conversation with Pete.
My son kept exchanging dollars for quarters for the claw machine, and at one point, put a dollar in the machine and it ate it. Pete came out to look at the machine and gave my son quarters for the mishap.
Pete and his wife are super nice people, and we really enjoyed the pizza. It was well made, great crust, plenty of cheese, and a very good robust rich sauce. I will definitely return in the future to support their business. Thank you Pete's pizza!

First time I've been in here and I ordered a steak and cheese. It was over $10. Fine I understand prices have gone up. What wasn't fine was the two little slivers of steak on it. The bread was good, but I did not feel like it was a good value at all. It's not that it was bad, it just felt like I wasn't getting much for my money. I'm usually not hungry after I eat a 12-in steak and cheese, but there's usually a substantial amount of steak and cheese on a steak and cheese. It was more like a bread sandwich with some steak and cheese sprinkled on top. The atmosphere was cool it felt like 1980s.
I won't waste my time or money at this place. I can get a better meal for The same or less.

Excellent crust and sauce on their pizzas with homey,.personal, neighborhood. atmosphere!
Looks like something I made at home, had frozen that tasted better cheese was good but not the pepperoni
Don’t let the negative reviews keep you from great pizza! The pizza here is great! We almost didn’t visit, but are so thankful we did! This is a no fluff place, with a “hole in the wall” vibe. The pizza was honestly, the best pizza in this town. Crust was fantastic with great flavor, sauce was great with hints of basil, and the cheese was perfect. Not a thing wrong. Quit bashing this place, as if you could do it better. Instead be nice, and if you’ve never been — it’s totally worth it. To the owners — we came because of the negative reviews. Glad we did! First timers and we’ll be back and will further encourage others! Thank you for great pizza!
Family shop. Mostly serve yourself. Some of the best pizza I've ever had. Simple Pepperoni Pizza but it was soooo good.
I would never go spend my hard earned money in a place like this again! Pizza my gf ordered wasn’t done, my cheesesteak was like a steakum folded up in a roll and let’s not talk about the customer service. Sheesh I don’t know how they lasted so long serving junk! If ppl think this place is good yall need your palates corrected.
The pizza here is delicious!! We had a large pepperoni pizza and had to take half of it home because it was so big my husband and I could not finish it. We also had mozzarella sticks as an appetizer. They were good and the dipping sauce was so good. It was better than the marinara sauce we usually get at other places. We will definitely be back to try more things on the menu!! They have postings of being rated number 1 since like 2015 and we can see why, they are great and friendly. Lots of places to sit as well.
A very local place. Almost a hole in the wall but in a good way. They offer pizza by the slice, whole pies, calzones, salads, subs, etc. very nostalgic taste. The slice really hit the spot.
Decent pizza that would probably win an award for the greasiest in all of Culpeper. The restaurant is a throwback to the 80s. I don't think I've ever seen more than a few people in there. They serve pitchers, so that's a bonus!
Have never been. Got a medium 3 ingred pizza, $18!!! It wasn't pizza crust. Crust is supposed to stay flat, this dropped down like a wet noodle. There was an odd taste to the sauce but I can't put my finger on it. The cheese was very good. But the onions were just slices, making it EXTREMELY hard to eat, slopping all over the chin.
Their boxes aren't big enough for the pizza as you'll see in the pix. At SOME point we'll find a good pizza in the Freddy/Culpeper area. Even the male, who NEVER complains about food, didn't like it.

Ive Been coming here for 30 + yrs and there isn't anything on the menu I haven't tried and loved. I highly recommend the lasagna, that's my favorite!
Went for some pizza, got food poisoning. Kids and I were in bad shape into the following day. We will never again be going here.
When to Petes pizza and ordered a large 3 topping pizza sausage mushroom and beef and sausage was breakfast hot sausage poor quality would not recommend the pizza from Pete's restaurant I don't think you should use breakfast sausage on a pizza also the staff was not very pleasant and not helpful
Pete's has been around Culpeper it seems like since Culpeper began they cost a little more but you can't beat the Pizza.
