We just purchased a Ghost mattress from Save A Ton and the entire experience was great from start to finish. While we haven’t had the chance to sleep on the mattress yet, it feels incredibly comfortable and well-made.

What really made the experience stand out was the outstanding customer service. A special thank you to the manager who was incredibly helpful, patient, and knowledgeable. They took the time to answer all our questions and made sure we found exactly what we needed within our budget. Their professionalism and friendly attitude really stood out.

Based on the service alone, we’d highly recommend Save A Ton to anyone looking for a new mattress. Can’t wait to get a good night’s sleep on our new Ghost bed.

✔️They literally have everything:
· Furniture & home goods
· Outdoor & camping gear
· Kitchen appliances (big & small!)
· Clothes, toys, snacks, even frozen meat
· Pet supplies & random finds galore

Discount deals on overstock, returns, near-expiry, and lightly damaged packaging.

✨ Pros:
✅ Huge variety – if you know what you want, this place could be a goldmine
✅ Great for bargain hunters and treasure hunters

⚠️ Cons (from me):
😢 Product info is often missing – no labels or price comparison
😢 Discounts aren’t always obvious

If you’re not in the mood to dig, you might walk out empty-handed

Go only if you’re in the mood to search or have a specific item in mind.

Not your average “browse and buy” store.

I shop here at least once a week — there’s always some kind of great deal to find! Last time, I picked up a beach half dome tent for half the price of Walmart, just $30z I was also really impressed by the toy selection — the same toys that cost $50 elsewhere were just $20 here. Awesome prices and excellent service every time!

I don't understand what's going on with this store! The prices are higher than in the stores where they get these products. For example, this board costs $600 here. $600!!!!!! Costco has the same one, exactly the same one (because they sell returns from Costco or with an almost expired date). NEW!! $380! And u still have a guarantee. Are you laughing at your customers? Or do you think everyone around you is so stupid that they wouldn't check this? I found this shop a year ago and was surprised by the prices. But now it looks like a scam with terrible service. Think carefully before going to this store.

90% of the stuff being sold is Costco returns but only slightly discounted. My advice is to just buy the stuff from Costco and take advantage of their exceptional return policy if something goes wrong. Don't try and save a few bucks buying someone else's returned trash of unknown quality.

Response to the owner:

Just because you don't like what's being said, doesn't mean it's a fake review. Maybe get some products outside of unsold and returned Walmart, Superstore, and Costco items. Accusing me of being a disgruntled competitor and trying to advertise on a bad review is pathetic and other customers should take note.

We appreciate all reviews and as a small business that gets affected by reviews we do try our best to learn from them. However fake reviews we struggle with. Our clothing is 50% off, everything else can range from 30% to 60%. King mattress for $399, sectionals at $699, cereal at $1.99 and so many more examples. Maybe you’re just the competition and writing bad reviews but it’s ok. Lots of our amazing customers keep coming back and we focus on them.)

It was okay! I saw that really promising video someone posted on TikTok so i was thinking like wow I must have a look. In this economy? I must save where I can. It doesn’t have that feeling of old dead stock items. There’s a lot of new items that were sold at Costco before.
Lots of different food items. Nice prices for some of their shoes, boots, clothes. They have a lot of home appliances, outdoor equipment, furniture and other things. Everything was clean and fairly organized.

One of the biggest and cleanest liquidation places. Friendly staff and lots of room to browse. Out of the many bin/pallet stores i frequent, this is by far my favorite.

I was weiry of reviews about pricing, not sure why people are complaining. I got a brand new mattress pad $130 off retail price, plus a bunch of other goodies!

Big selection of frozen food, appliances and furniture. I originally came in for a couch and I will continously be checking back for a model that I like!

I was a long time customer. Used to like the store when prices were really discounted.
Now they're basically Costco returns selling items more expensive than Costco.
My tip: look at their prices, them compare to Costco.ca - it became ridiculous.

Typical outlet store selling overstock and returns, much of which is Costco. Except prices here often more than what the product sold/sells for brand new at Costco. I looked at over a dozen items that I buy at Costco brand new for less than the ones here that were returns/used/past the best before date. Almost all food was past best before date including stuff that is more than a year and a half out of date… I also found baby food products that expired last year. I didn’t see much in the way of savings beyond a couple of prominently featured items that were clearly marked down and designed to entice people into thinking the rest of the store is a deal. You might find a couple dollars of savings here or there but buyer beware - know your prices and watch expiry dates carefully.

I stopped by last weekend to buy some organic Italian canned beans.
I loaded my bag with cans because it’s quite good price (case of 12 was $3.99) then
I checked expiration date and it’s middle of 2023!!!
It should be illegal to sell food with expiration dates like that.
I noticed lots of other food products passed expiration date too.
You better watch what you buying.

Spotted this while doing some errands, thought we'd stop in and take a look. This is likely the highest priced "liquidation" place I've ever been in. Sure, if you look hard enough they have some ok prices, but the entire stock is Costco or Amazon returns for the most part. But, prices are high, indeed I spotted actual items we've purchased at Costco for MORE than what we paid at Costco when the item was on sale or clear out pricing.

As for grocery items, all of it past their best before date (sell by date), while of course those items are still perfectly fine to consume they're still priced close to regular retail.

As the owner responds to these I shall provide some ideas to help the business. Jump in your vehicle and take a trip up to Stettler, in the mall there is a "Liquidation" store that's been open for several years. Go inside and take a look at what they have. That store buys NEW clothing bulk from suppliers and stores, quite often it's weird sizes that didn't sell. But they have lots of regular sizing on offer. We buy clothes there for our camping trips, $5 hoodies, $5 sweatpants, $10 jackets, etc. You can barely walk thru the racks in that store they have so much stuff. And they aren't just one or two items of each, they have boxes of each, different colours, etc.

Calgary does not have such a store in the city, but we have a ton of similar stores to yours but most are at least being realistic with what they're selling and not trying to sell it for close to what you can purchase it at a regular store. I mean, you have stuff on your shelves marked as "not working" but here's 20% off this already high price for a non-working version. You will never manage to sell those items.

You'd make a killing running a store like that Stettler store, forget about trying to resell Amazon/Costco returns and offer something people want. Nobody is going to want to buy long since expired food items at prices close to regular stores, higher than Walmart and Dollarama, they go to those stores directly for that stuff.

Nice clean environment and nice helpful staff. Just be aware of the food items you purchase as they may be way past there best before date. Like the manny brand tacos, they were 6 months past date. Other than that, nice place.

Love the idea and amount of inventory here but the prices for food and some household items are not proper discounts. Items that haven’t passed best before dates are basically regular prices compared to chain stores, and food items that have passed best before are only modestly discounted. They have some freezer items spread across the perimeter of the store before you enter the warehouse section.

They have fitting rooms and carts you can use for shopping.

They do have a lot of random home decor, sports, and other gear, but you nearly might as well just buy them from where you were going to get them at regular price. There’s a million clothes, some of them look like they are from Walmart. I personally found a few things that I only paid $1-$2 for at Walmart at the end of the season while the discount here was maybe half the original Walmart price.

Not very busy, small amount of parking, most likely wouldn’t come here again.

Just in response to the owners response below: I feel for you that it’s a small family business and as I said I love the idea and the fact you are doing it. Ultimately if I am coming to a discount store I am seeking to get things at a discount more than you would find them at a discount at those regular stores (hence my Walmart example).

Great to know we can “barter” with you for a better price, but that sounds like more effort on the customers end rather than just being able to come here and pay a liquidation price. About 50% is what I said for your discount for the clothing so we seem to agree there!

It is not my job to mention the mattresses (not looking for those), so they might be a good deal to someone who is looking for them, but that’s not what I came there for and not what piqued my interest.

Additionally, I would hope and assume that photos only help people see your inventory. So despite not enjoying your store, I’m sure someone will see the photos and it will help them decide whether or not they want to visit your store.

Place is organized, clean for a warehouse, well laid out, seeing most of the items in good condition, be aware of the expiry date on food stuffs though, staffs were helpful and friendly. Items are priced so you can shop and decide. Overall nice place to shop for liquidated items. Parking is ample.

BE CAREFUL!!!!
You may end up buying a lot more than you think 😅😂
Amazing place. My favorite place to go. Great deals on clothes and house items.
Also AMAZING deals on food and snacks. Yes of course, check the expiring date. Not all products are expired. And the ones that are "expired" are simply past the "Best Before" date, which is a suggestion from the manufacturer and most products could be consumed even after 6 months. And for the pennies that you pay, you can buy one and try if it's still fresh and good. Then buy more. 😁 They also sell "expired" or nearly expired food and snacks at the Superstore and Walmart. It's the same thing.
In resume. RECOMMENDED!
Staff is also super FRIENDLY😊🙌🏽

Here is my full review of my experience at save-a-ton.

First of all, I originally thought that all the products in here would just be defective, broken, or knock-offs of other brands like most liquidation stores. But I was wrong. Most of the products here are brand new working products of which most seem to have been originally for sale at Costco. There was a lot of good finds here like a whole Christmas section, which had some pretty cheap products. There was lots of food here for sale, most of it was expired by a month or so or expiring soon. But I surprisingly also found quite a few products which had expiration dates from 2-3 years ago! Which is weird to see. The staff here was overall friendly. One thing I would add to the store to improve customer experience would be getting bigger shopping carts. All they had was super small ones which you can't really fit much in. Overall, it's a good store. It's the best liquidation store I have been to yet, so you get 4 stars! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
