Dr. Schoeber is a native of Wyoming. He received his medical degree from Creighton University in 1985 and served his residency in Casper, WY at the U of Wy Family Practice Program. He was associated with that program in various leadership roles from 1988 until he became the Program Director in 1993-2002. In 2002, he opened his own private practice until he joined with WMA in 2006 and MHCC in 2020. He comments, "I am not focused in one area of the body or disease process. Medicine intrigues me; you never know it all, there's always something interesting, or new on the horizon." Joe has been very active in the medical community. Currently he is serving as the Medical Director of both the Central Wyoming Hospice and the Biolife Programs.
