Terrible customer service. Trying to return a defective item is too much hassle for them with countless excuses from their rude manager/supervisor. Believe all the terrible reviews.

Terrible customer service. They can walk right by you and not even acknowledge you.
I've ask for a product and they actually POINTED yes pointers to where it was!!
Manager doesn't care about her clientell, even when I actually work next door. But she wouldn't know because she is so unpersonable .
I recently needed change for the cart. Which I didn't have, all I had was my debit card and visa. She couldn't help me, I ask if she can take from the till and I would return it after my shopping. It was a no! I had to leave since I couldn't shop without a card.
There are many more stories. All I can say is,this store needs a revamp in staff, or some training sessions on how to smile and welcome their customers. Also the line ups are horrible. I'm so disappointed with shoppers. I'll be going to Rexall and Walmart.

i called to find out if the post office was open, when i went through the automation to be connected it just rang n rang. I called back and got connected to customer service to ask them and before i could finish asking if the post office was open today she had already disconnected and sent it back to the post office line which no one answers.
A simple yes they are open or no they are closed is all i wanted

so annoying :S

As a customer of Shoppers for over 30 years, the last straw came 2 weeks ago when a blow dryer/curling iron was purchased at the Sunridge location. I asked if it could be returned in BC and the cashier said as long as there is a receipt, it can be returned anywhere. The next day, it was used and was too hot, so we returned it to the Forest Lawn location. The supervisor said she had to get permission from the assistant front store manager for a refund. The assistant front store manager refused to refund us our money because it was against health policies to return hair care products. I told her that as a former employee of that particular store, I knew the policy and health reasons only apply to earrings and under garments. She still refused to refund us our money and told me to call head office. I already had them on my cell phone and was on hold, waiting for an operator. We headed for the Sunridge location where we were told that because the package was opened, we had to return it to them. WRONG! How else are you supposed to know if something works if you don't open it? Besides, it was one of those plastic packages you need a chain saw to cut through to open. Then the same girl said that it had to be returned to them because if the other store refunded our money, they would be out the money. WRONG!

When I spoke with head office, I was informed that I was right: you CAN return hair care products WITH a receipt and the Forest Lawn location should have taken it back no problem. I told her that getting so many excuses from 2 different stores showed a lack of training on behalf of Shoppers Drug Mart.

Another incident happened at the Sunridge Location on the same day (charged $1.20 or 30% over the cover price of a magazine and given the excuse "it's the US price" when there was NO US price marked on the magazine, then told by HO that it was the manufacturers suggested price, again no MSRP was anywhere on the magazine). I decided to cash in our Optimum points and shred our cards. We won't shop at this sorry excuse for a company anymore. The only stuff we bought there anyways was toilet paper and kleenex when it was on sale. Everything else is so much cheaper at Walmart or Zellers. Customer service has gone into the toilet.
