I have never encountered such a rude and arrogant duo. I was told by mother and daughter both that they didn't need my business nor were they interested in grooming my dog. What provoked this...I asked them if I could arrange a time to drop off and pick up, directly before the appointment rather than leaving her there for half a day. My sweet senior dog was recently rescued from a shelter and I didn't want her to think that she was being abandoned again... I was told unconditionally that this is not the way that it's done...or only would be done for people that frequent the business monthly. I don't really see how it would be any different that making your own salon appointment, I certainly wouldn't book an appointment for myself expecting to wait for 3-4 hours. I found a doggy salon that was able to accommodate me, that did a fantastic job, so I guess it worked out for all of us. I only write this review because I have never in my life encountered such rudeness. If I could have picked a negative star rating I would have complete thumbs down!

New to the area, we took our two berners to to Juanita's as they had pictures of berners on their site and the reviews. Unfortunately, we almost lost one when she cause the dog to have heat stroke and did not recognize the systems of a dog in distress. When I picked them up, one of them was gasping for air - I quickly paid and went directly to our vet and were told I got him there just in time - his temperature was 43C (normal temp is 36C. After two days at the hospital, he was allowed home but we had to watch to make sure no side effects of the event. WHen I called to let her know, there was no concern until I told her that both vets were concerned that she did not know or advise up that the dog was in distress. Her answer was I guess I should call them to see what I should watch for. We were fortunate others may not be. I will not take my dogs back here and I will not recommend this groomer to any of our friends and neither will the vets.

Having moved recently from Ontario, we took our two bernese mountain dogs to Juanita's. We were very happy with the grooming however one of our dog's got heat stroke while at her establishment and we almost lost him. She called and said he was panting and drooling however did not indicate he was in any distress however when I picked him up, I realized there was a problem and took him to the vet immediately. He spent two days in the hospital and is still recovering. It does not appear the groomer recognized the situation.
Fortunately our vet recognized the signs immediately and did what was necessary to save him.

We recently returned to Juanita's with different dogs and have nothing but great things to say about them. No one grooms a Bichon better than Juanita! The dogs like going there, which is great.
I would recommend them to anyone.

I have been taking my dogs to Juanita for over 11 years.
They are a member of this community and contribute to it in so many wonderful ways.
It is obvious that there is a hidden agenda foe someone to push Juanita out so that her property can be scooped up and developed.
The city of Surrey is still so corrupt and the mayor goes right along with it.
I Hope that we the people that pay the taxes can pressure the bad guys to stop this kind of harassment.

I could not speak highly enough of the care and attention my pets receive at this business. I see and know the dogs here are loved and properly looked after. The dogs all go home at 6pm for the most part.

This locally owned and operated tax paying business with over 20 years in the South Surrey/White Rock area needs to be helped to fight back. To be harrassed and pushed out of the neighborhood where they live, work and support the community is an outrage. What is next?? Do the flowers from the nursery next door smell to much? Mow it down too and put up more townhouses.

SHAME on the local MP and other businesses for not banding together to assist this family run store.

We have taken our dogs to Juanita's Doggy Den for both grooming and day care, plus a few times for boarding while we've been on vacation.

We first "discovered" them about ten years ago, and have found them to be consistently knowledgeable and professional in the handling and care of all the dogs we have seen at their business.

We wish them continued success in any and all endeavours.

We have taken our dogs, Willie, Benny, Winston, and Charlie to Juanita's Doggy Den for many years, and we have been extremely pleased with the service we have received. It is a wonderful place for dogs to play, be groomed, and learn to get along with other dogs. We know many other happy dog owners who have received great service there.

I have heard rumors that Juanita's Doggy Den is thinking of moving because of complaints about the noise of barking dogs from neighbors. We sincerely hope that doesn't happen, because the business has been in the present location for many years, and there have not been complaints about the noise. What is different now? The difference is that infill housing development has been taking place, and there are now many residences built in a formerly vacant area rather close to Juanita's Doggy Den.

But you might ask: Who was there first? Certainly not the owners of new houses close to the business location. This episode reminds me of what sometimes happens near airports. Developers come in and build a lot of new houses close to an airport and a lot of people move into the area. And then people begin to complain about the noise of planes flying overhead! Who was there first? If the developers threatened to sue the airport authority because of the noise, they wouldn't get very far!

I hope that Juanita's Doggy Den will stay put! Maybe nowadays with the 99% learning how to fight back against the 1% there is a way it can happen!

Best regards,

I live behind them and I hear them yelling at the dogs all the time. I once saw the owners viciously grab a dog by the collar and drag him back into the house. I would steer clear of this place.

I love taking my dog to Juanita for grooming and daycare. We have tried a few other place with our dog but no one makes him look as cute as they do at Juanita's. My dog is always happy to his grooming appointments at Juanita's and is always happy and excited when i pick him up.
I recommend Juanita's Doggy Den to my friends and you too :)
