I chose to go into medicine after I spent about two years working in sports medicine in high school. I was a student athletic trainer, and I was part of the training process for different teams. I learned about sports medicine and injuries, and I actually got to practice sports medicine. I'm most passionate about spending time with the Lord in prayer and reading my Bible and trying to be a better person overall for my family as a wife, as a mother. As a clinician, I try to be someone who's going to listen to patients and take into account what they're saying and their feelings. The most gratifying part of practicing medicine is seeing patients understand what's going on when I talk about complex treatments or plans. When they understand, it gives them ownership and empowers them to make better decisions for themselves.
